  1. The (relatively) recent infatuation with ultra skinny women that leads to calling that girl fat has me thoroughly confused. Does no one appreciate shapely bodies any more?

    – gets off soap box –

  2. Van: Trail of thought that lead to the “fat girl” tirade =

Original Post from Mr. From Texas:
    >Curse you, Wil Wheaton!!!

    Followed by post from NS:
    >Following the trail of linkages from WW’s tumblr leads to idjits on reddit calling the girl “fat”.

    >WTF? Seriously? Bah. Humans.

Thus, my frustration at people calling someone that isn’t anorexic “fat”. The girl in the picture wasn’t fat. And because (supposedly) popular opinion is that skinny = good looks, I have to deal with umpteen television shows / movies that have really skinny women with no figure whatsoever in “sexy” roles. Pthpthpthpth.

  3. I agree yeah curves

When I updated iTunes I saw ping there and thought “can i hide this thing”
other than ping i do like the look of iTunes 10

I also kinda like the new iPod Nano’s. I loved my 2nd gen shuffle but wished it had a screen so as long as it isn’t to small it just might be time to upgrade. I still have a 1st gen nano and I lost my shuffle

  4. Funny thing EssBee. Hubby and I were talking about that news article. This preacher is in a small town and has a congregation of around 50 people. We blame the media for creating the problem more than the preacher. With such a tiny base, had the media not grabbed the story and blown it up around the world, nobody would have really known and the world would not be as angry.

(hopefully I’ve worded it so that you understand I not pro this preacher but anti media)

  5. The government said he shouldn’t burn the book because it would endanger troops. However, if the media had not grabbed the story other countries would not have even known what was going on and there would be no worry.

  6. Good idea, Lo, but no thanks. I lived there for 2 1/2 years during grad school, and while it was fun enough, they really should change “Collins” to “Wonderbread.” Nor for me.

I could move to Gay street in Longmont, though!

  7. I know. I did too! Did you know it has the highest number of sex offenders per capita in the United States? Fun fact!

    My aunt lives on Gay!

  8. It does?? I am SO not surprised about that. I lived there during the Matthew Shepard murder and it’s aftermath, including one of the CSU frats including an effigy on their homecoming float mocking his death. *shudder*

It also has the most restaurants per capita.

  9. CU and Boulder, thankfully, arent one in the same. Least not while I lived and went to school there. Course my heyday there was 1994 – 2003. And I can tell you from 2000 on it changed changed changed. Ugh. Used to be so sweet….

    Also Go Buffs.

  10. My cat was bugging me to go outside. I took her out . It’s raining. She wasn’t impressed. (she’s an indoor cat so only goes out if I carry her)

  11. Hey Lo, you still aren’t on fire are you?

Speaking of fires, I find the planned Quran burning as extremely ignorant and in poor taste. All book burners basically put themselves in the same category as the Nazis and peasants from the Middle Ages. That said, I think these type of grotesque side shows are forms of protected free speech. Even as much as flag, Bible, Quran, Torah etc. burning turns my stomach, I think the United States is a better place for allowing it to happen, a free expression of ideas, good, bad, with merit and without. Through free discussion we learn. Okay, does someone need a soap box? I’m all done with mine.

  12. Rhett, I fully support his right to free expression, I just don’t stand behind the media over hyping it and blowing it out of proportion.

Ok, I’m done with this subject too.

  13. I didnt start it. No Im SE of it. Just barely tho.

Jesus save me from your followers…. yes I know thats a broad statement but come on. If tired of people acting like fucking morons in the “name of teh Lord”. Whats awesome is THATS what “Thou shalt not take the Lords name in vain” is all about. Its not saying “Godddamn”. Its all about doing stupid ignorant stuff and backing it up by saying “this is what god wants”. Funny how that commandments meaning has been skewed over the years.

  14. OK, for those of you that Facebook – there’s this 15 Album Meme going around. After thoughtful consideration, I believe it would be more fun to share with all of you – my crazy musical tastes.. than it would be to post it there… although I did. So.. Here goes…

  15. That fire is brutal. 135 homes totally gone, and so far 6330 acres burned up. We’re close-ish to it. Sly B works at CU and says her office smells like smoke.

  16. We have probably even done this before on the :pan: but.. whatever and some of you have been tagged on Facebook:

THE RULES: Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen albums you’ve heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.

  19. EssBee – The family is doing pretty good. School’s back on and we’re 31 weeks pregnant… which if you’ve ever been around a very pregnant woman, then you know that means walking on eggshells and breaking most of them. Oops! =)

  20. Yes good album pics by CJ and Lo Pan. 🙂 I got tagged by the Six String Bliss guys and created one last week. I go grab it from Facebook and repost it here. A moment.

  21. EssBee – They played a free show on 16th Street a couple months ago and theyre still wonderful. Rocky George is playing guitar with em now. Amazing.

  22. 1) When discussing this topic, as Christians, he would remind us (remember, I’m paraphrasing) DON’T BE A DOUCHE

Thats perfect. Reading that, J0e, doth give me hope. Its also nice to be reminded y’all arent all crazy defectoids 🙂

    14. Tracy Bonham – The Burdens of Being Upright

    15. The Kills – No Wow

  24. Yeah.
    Here’s my conundrum –
What drives me the most crazy about the extremists is the way they are always calling others out as being bad and evil or “not Christian enough” … but if I speak out about these folks, if I start calling them out for not believing as I do … doesn’t that make me JUST LIKE THEM?

ack. I must go duct tape my head to keep it from exploding.

    15. Breaking Benjamin – We Are Not Alone

  26. Back to Ultraviolet for a moment, yes, definitely fun. I liked the creativity in the flaming sword fight, but was a bit miffed that they decided to chop the scenes up so badly. A simpler sequence would have been way more epic.

Other than that, like Flash, I was getting annoyed with how bad it all was for the first few minutes until I relaxed and just decided to enjoy the ride. After that, it was all flashbang goodness.

Though it reminds me, does Mila do -any- movies now without having her face smoothed out in aftereffects? She practically glows here and she really did glow in the last Resident Evil movie I saw.

(Resident Evil, Evil Dead) Mila vs. The Chin!

    6. Cardigans – First Band on the Moon
    14. AC/DC – Who Made Who

  30. Wow, next time I plan to call in a voice mail, remind me to speak up. WTF.. ? I can’t hear what I’m saying at all. Could any of you understand that at all?

  31. I’m getting close to hitting on you this morning, Cj, but I heard you fine and thought to myself how adorable your voice is while I was driving in to work today.

  32. J0e – yeah you do fall into that. Unfortunately thats the nature of the beast. I really feel its the message behind the speaking out that differentiates it. If youre not backed by ignorance then you have a right to speak out yourself.

  33. Okay here’s the list:

    1. This Godless Endeavor – Nevermore
    2. The Chemical Wedding – Bruce Dickinson
    3. Hounds of Love – Kate Bush

    Mock away. LOL

  34. I’m surprised to see the Grateful Dead on EssBee’s list. . . Not a Deadhead myself, but that is an excellent album.

LP: Ministry and Faith No More are great calls. I think “VS.” was also PJ’s last really good album, although “Ten” will always be my fave of theirs.

Lots of good 90s memories in Nomad’s list.

Speaking of: I think the Cardigans were pretty quickly dismissed as disposable pop, but I thought they had some surprises. Especially “It’s War”.

I can definitely relate with the more geeze-ahem-classic rock section of J0e’s list. (that’s not an age crack; it’s my music too)

Lots of good choices all around! Rhett tagged me with this on FB, but I never responded. I’ll post something here in a few.

  35. Jack, I’m a big deadhead. Toured a bit even during my wildest days.

Speaking of GD, Sly B and I just bought two track packs for Rock Band and rock our asses off. We have about 9 Dead songs.

  36. def leppard – pyromania
motley crue – shout at the devil
    the police – synchronicity
    metallica – master of puppets

pink floyd – dark side of the moon
a tribe called quest – low end theory
jim hendrix – are you experienced
    opeth – blackwater park
public enemy – fear of a black planet
    iron maiden – powerslave
    led zeppelin – physical graffiti
    ac/dc – back in black
    elliott smith – xo

Sorry to go all e.e. cummings, but I wrote it up quickly in WP, without capitalization.

  37. I almost put AC/DC – Back in Black on my list but I didn’t follow the rules and I thought about it a moment and opted for Who Made Who…

Also, I think if I’d thought of it sooner, Poe’s Hello album would have bumped something…

  38. What I find as inspired choices from everyone else’s list.

CJ: The Cure – Japanese Whispers, ZZ Top – AfterBurner, Ratt – Out of the Cellar

Lo Pan: Angel Dust – Faith No More, Master of Puppets – Matallica, Psalm 69 – Ministry, Rust in Peace – Megadeth

EssBee: Rumors – Fleetwood Mac, Horses – Patti Smith, Metallica – Metallica

Nomad: Sarah McLachlan – Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Queensryche – Operation Mindcrime

JOe: Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon, The Beatles – White Album, Alan Parsons Project – Turn of a friendly card, Queen – Night at the Opera

Jack: Pretty much the whole damn list. LOL Although I am not familiar with “A Tribe Called Quest”, or “Elliot Smith.”

  39. Well I have my four genres that I listen to.

    Metal. duh
    Progressive Rock.
    Industrial
    and Folk.

It’s unusual for me to drift very far from those formulas, although I do like Shania Twain and even some Emenem.

  40. I think and/or feel like I should get off my duff and take a shower.

Yet…. I’m just sitting here staring at a blank screen wondering what to write.

    brain blockage, I haz it.

  41. 1. Counter Parts – Rush
    2. To High to Die – Meat Puppets
    3. Super Star Car wash – Goo Goo Dolls

    6. Who Made Who – AC/DC
    7. Metallica – Metallica
    8. The Crow Sound track
    9. Live – Throwing Copper
    10. Permanent Vacation – Arrowsmith
    11. Dirt – Alice in Chains
    12.Ten – Pearl Jam
    13. V.S. – Pear Jam
    14. Youthanasia – Megadeath
15 The Wall – Pink Floyd

Note: Megadeth inspired my handle and 3 months ago The Wall would not be on this list.

  42. Permanent Vacation by Aerosmith always reminds me of playing games on the SNES (mostly X-Men) and the Sega CD. It was also one of the last tapes I ever bought.

Why does AC/DC’s Who Made Who end with “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)” and there concretes for that matter. We just finished the rocking.

When driving and I have nothing to listen to I start singing songs from Rush’s counterparts it was the first CD I bough and never left my CD changer till I ripped it to put on my first MP3 player

  43. As the DP resident old fart, my 15 albums would be:

War of the Worlds – Jeff Wayne (+various actors and Justin Hayward)
The Black Hole Soundtrack – John Barry
    Pulp Fiction Soundtrack – various
    Painted Signs – Eric Bibb
Castles and Old Kings – Johnny Dickinson
The Last Man on Earth – Loudon Wainwright III
    Heartbeat City – The Cars
Far from Silent – Martyn Joseph
Dark Gift of Time – Christine Collister
Out of the Blue – ELO
    Parallel Lines – Blondie
    American Pie – Don Mclean
Tom Lehrer in Concert – Tom Lehrer
    Tubular Bells – Mike Oldfield
    Prodigal Son – Martin Simpson

  44. The Crow sdtk!
    Tubular Bells!
(actually, I might have added Oldfield’s “Songs of Distant Earth”)

    ————————————
EssBee, reaper: I would not give that microwave teapot a high rating. I think the 2nd trip through the dishwasher killed mine.

  45. Essbee: I use disposable tea bags. You can get them at most descent coffee/tea stores. If the conrainment area for the tea leaves is small enough, I save money by making my own disposable tea bags by putting the leaves in a coffee filter and scrunching it up. This doesn’t work well if the area is too big as the makeshift bag simply opens up in the hot water.

  46. “I have an awesome tea cup and wonderful loose green tea from Sly B. But the tea leaves end up all floaty in my cup. I hate that!”

Essbee – when I first read that, I thought you were quoting song lyrics.

  47. Re: song list

As I pondered my list, I realized that it is so dated because it comes from a time in my life when I would actually put on a cd (or yes in fact, an ALBUM) and listen to it from start to finish.

It seems that at some undefined point in my life, I stopped doing that. I still listened to lots of music but it became Radio Stations, MTV and then playlists.

If the meme had been for “list 15 artist” off the top of my head or 15 songs that will always be important … you would have had a much different (and probably much more contemporary) list from me.

  48. LOL. Van, we do have some cloth tea bags that are washable. They are kinda blechy. I do have some paper tea bags at home, UH. I think the brand is TEA SACK, which always makes me giggle.

  49. OK. Home now so I can spend some time on the 15 album thing.

    1. Rush – 2112
    2. Pink Floyd – Atom Heart Mother
    3. Jethro Tull – Minstrel in the Gallery
    4. The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper
    5. Jesus Christ Superstar – Musical
    6. Rush – Caress of Steel
    7. Alice Cooper – Welcome to my Nightmare
    8. Zebra – Zebra
    9. Harry Chapin – Verities and Balderdash
    10. America – Greatest Hits
    11. Chess – Musical (the original version with Murry Head)
    12. Billy Joel – Songs in the Attic
    13. The Who – Tommy
    14. Beethoven – 9th Symphony
    15. PDQ Bach – The Worst of PDQ Bach

My main staples growing up were Rush, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and the Beatles. But I listen to and enjoy everything except for twangy country, rap, and death metal.

  50. Nice list, UH. I’m with ya on Rush, PF, JT, and the Beatles. The other things I grew up listening to with dad via 8 track in his great Jeep was 1) Steve Miller Band and 2) The Mamas and The Papas. I love both bands to this day.

  51. So, my daughter gets a fortune cookie fortune that said, “You will be involved in many humanitarian projects.”

I ask her to read it to me and she says, “You will be involved in many humani… projects.”

    She’s 6.
    First grade.
My daughter can read! I am so flippin’ proud right now!

“involved” and “projects” are NOT easy words for a 1st grader!

In awe of my daughter right now.

  52. Look at a you peeps! I go and waste a whole day away at work and I come back to find over 200 comments and we’re not even through the first day!

  53. Hmm, 15 albums. This will be tricky as, like Justa Joe, I seem to have become more playlist oriented rather than listening to straight albums anymore. So, most of my “album” days go back to being able to only play one tape, record, or CD at a time. But still, in no particular order:

    1. Genesis – Invisible Touch
    2. James Horner – Star Trek II Score
    3. John Williams – The Empire Strikes Back
    4. Yanni – Live at the Acropolis
    5. Weird Al Yankovic – Dare to be Stupid
    6. Enya – Watermark
    7. Oingo Boingo – Dead Man’s Party

    1. New Order- low life
    2. Therapy? – nurse
    3. Pink Floyd- the wall

    18. My life with the thrill kill kult – I see good spirits I see bad spirits
    19. Nirvana – nevermind
    20. Coil – how to destroy angels

  56. 21. Michael Jackson – thriller
    22. Pj Harvey – rid of me
    23. Jesus lizard – Jesus lizard
    24. Sonic youth – evol
    25. Pixies – doolittle

  57. I’m fixated on this subject of memories- after I left work I kept thinking about albums.

please forgive me a non focused flow of thoughts here:

I know that wasn’t the point really of the 15 albums.. well it sort of is. If I think of 1 album it becomes a never ending flow of memories and other albums.

I just read a book from a woman who held intense memories of moments in her life all tied to food.
Hugh and I were discussing this, we both grew up in families where dinner time was very important. And so there are also these kind of memories I have also tied to food and the dinner table.
It was the only time my family set aside as talking time. So in my youth food actually gives me negative memories. Later in life after I got clean and I actually cared about eating again, i realized I LOVED cooking so in my later life I have many happy memories of meals and foods Hugh and I have shared.

But even more than food there is also this intense memory flow that comes from music with both of us. I can think of any major point in my life and tie it to an album. Or even insignificant points in my life but there was an album I was listening to non stop 1 summer.

  58. So I pulled myself out of the past and the crazy memory association I can get into with albums in my past

and I want to do 15 more recent albums that I will remember forever

then I gotta make some dinner and wake Hugh up 🙂

  59. 1. Airborne Toxic Event – Airborne Toxic Event

    12. Franz Ferdinand – tonight
    13. Beastie boys – the mix up
    14. Placebo – meds
    15. breed 77 – in my blood

  60. My 15 makes me feel really young in comparison. I wonder if Amy’s 15 would help ameliorate that?

I got my first radio when I was 15 or 16 and bought my first CD player when I was 18. Live, Sarah M, and Enigma were my first three albums, my first CDs.

I remember when the girls in my (maybe?) 4th grade class were singing “Walk Like An Egyptian” during recess. I thought it was a song about Moses. I didn’t know better for many many (many) years.

  61. 10. Say Anything – is a real boy = “some are not but they will always be with me”

I watch my yellow cat invade my red cat in the yard.

    Good times.

  62. No more promises
I have made them before and broken them
    Give me the go ahead
And I’ll undress myself for you if you’re at all interested

    I’m growing legs
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    I’m growing legs
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    Crawl inside her
    I am the
    Hey!

Oh, I know your pain (Oh, I feel you baby)
You like I scared plagued by the flies up in your brain
    I’m creeping up your veins
Are you smart enough and small enough to play this game?

    I’m growing legs
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    I’m growing legs
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    Crawl inside her
    I’m the
    Oh!
    Doo doo doo doo doo
I better watch my back around you
You’ve got the moves, the shoes, the ‘do, you’ve got me
    O ho no no no
I want you to know I want to
You’ve got those tired eyes all the time
You’ve got those tired eyes all the time
You’ve got those tired eyes all the time
Yeah, you need someone to bring you to bed

    Woah
I’m growing legs (I want you, you know I want to)
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
I’m growing legs (I want you, you know I want to)
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    I’m the spider
    Yeah!

    Fuck shit up!

I am too afraid to like you
    I can’t find a word to speak
If I could I’d talk so good that you would be with me
I am cold, too cool to call you
Far too stoned to leave my bed
I’ll write this song to win your kiss but stay asleep instead

  63. Baby girl i’m a blur
    I spoiled stunted sickened her
God and death are none of my concern
    I’m no philosopher

Deep in your heart stitched the key
And only one can set me free
From the beast where i dwell
And let the saints all burn in …

So take what you want from me
    Hey yeah
And take all i’ve got from me
    Hey yeah

You’re with me all the time
The drugs can have my mind love
You own the rest you’ll find
And you’re with me all the time

    On the roof burning black
The city smoked from the attack
But on the roof we love the beast to death
    The sweat and whiskey breath

So take what you want from me
    Hey yeah
And take all i’ve got from me
    Hey yeah

You’re with me all the time
The drugs can have my mind love
You own the rest you’ll find
And you’re with me all the time

We fall right down we get back up again
That?s how we be you and me
I would not crowd i would not smother you
I’d let you breathe over me
    Hey hey hey hey

We’re on a sinking ship we’re escaping it
We’re on a sinking ship we’re escaping it
We’re on a sinking ship we’re escaping it
We’re on a sinking ship we’re escaping it

You’re with me all the time
You’re with me all the time
    With me all the time
You’re with me all the time

No matter where i go youre on my mind
I’ll always stumble home and pray i’ll find
So with your flamethrower eyes and jilted smile
So you can soothe my wounds and drain my bile

No matter where i go you?re on my mind
I’ll always stumble home and pray i’ll find
So with your flamethrower eyes and jilted smile
So you can soothe my wounds and drain my bile

  64. I know you think that I shouldn’t still love you,
    Or tell you that.
But if I didn’t say it, well I’d still have felt it
    where’s the sense in that?

I promise I’m not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and
    destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can’t talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of “it’s over”
then I’m sure that that makes sense

I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

    And when we meet
    Which I’m sure we will
    All that was there
    Will be there still
    I’ll let it pass
    And hold my tongue
    And you will think
    That I’ve moved on….

I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

  65. Ima stop when Im ahead…. just in case there is confusion…

Theres something that i cant quite explain
i’m so in love with you
    you’ll never take that away

and if i said a hundred times before
    expect a thousand more
    you never take that away

    well expect me to be
    calling you to see
if you’re ok when i’m not around
    asking if you love me
i love the way you make it sound
    calling you to see
do i try too hard to make you smile
    to make a smile

well i will keep calling you to see
if you’re sleepin are you dreamin and
if you’re dreamin are you dreamin of me
    i cant believe
    you actually picked…me

i thought that the world had lost its sway
    (its so hard sometimes)
then i fell in love with you
    (then came you)
    and you took that away
(its not so difficult, the world is not so difficult)
    you take away the old
    show me the new
and i feel like i can fly
when i stand next to you
so what if I’m on this phone
    a hundred miles from home
i take the words you gave
and send them back to you

    i only want to see
if you’re ok when i’m not around
    asking if you love me
i love the way you make it sound
    calling you to see
do i try too hard to make you smile
    to make a smile

i will keep calling you to see
if you’re sleepin are you dreamin and
if you’re dreamin are you dreamin of me
    i cant believe
    you actually picked…me

well i will keep calling you to see
if you’re sleepin are you dreamin and
if you’re dreamin are you dreamin of me
    i cant believe
    you actually picked…me

i will keep calling you to see
if you’re sleepin are you dreamin and
if you’re dreamin are you dreamin of me
    i cant believe
    you actually picked…me

  66. Maybe this’ll help:

Don’t tell me the reason that you’re calling
Is to see if I’m alright since you’ve been gone
Cuz I know you and I know why we’re talking
You’re wanting me to say I’m barely hanging on
    Well maybe that was true
    For a night or two
But now I’ve got better thing to do

I could wash my car in the rain
    Change my new guitar strings
Mow the yard just the same
    As I did yesterday
I don’t need to waste my time
    Crying over you

I’ve got better things to do

Maybe when I don’t have so much going
Or quite so many irons in the fire
I’ll take the time to miss you like you’re hoping
But now I can’t put forth the effort it requires
Well I’d love to talk to you but then I’d miss Donahue

That’s right I’ve got better things to do

I could wash my car in the rain
    Change my new guitar strings
Mow the yard just the same
    As I did yesterday
I don’t need to waste my time
    Crying over you

I’ve got better things to do

Check the air in my tires
    Straighten my stereo wires
Count the stars in the sky
Or just get on with my life
I don’t need to waste my time
    Crying over you

I’ve got better things to do

I’ve got better things to do yeah

  67. I know you think that I shouldn’t still love you,
    Or tell you that.

  68. I must’ve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
    They’re moving into the street

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger’s gone away
But I can see the fire’s still alight
    There burning into the night

There’s too many men, too many people
    Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can’t you see this is a land of confusion?

Well this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Ooh, Superman where are you now
    When everything’s gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there’s not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago when the sun was shining
Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night
And the sound of your laughter as I held you tight, so long ago

I won’t be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
    We’re not just making promises
That we know, we’ll never keep

Too many men, there’s too many people
    Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can’t you see, this is a land of confusion?

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we’re given
Stand up and let’s start showing
Just where our lives are going to

  69. Pull out the stop plugs, drain all the waste
    Who needs it anyway
Fill all the big holes, leave no trace
    No sign of yesterday

I wash all the dishes and I clean up my place
    No sign of yesterday
I stare at the photographs of your dark face
    No sign of yesterday

Out in the yard was such a lovely place
It’s where we used to play
Inside, outside you can feel and taste
    No sign of yesterday

And I can’t hear you calling
    I can’t hear you calling
    I can’t hear you anymore
    Metal ships are falling
    This old car keeps stalling
Always seems to be the way

Pick up the pieces and go dig out the dead
Then you can go to bed
Night is the stealer and time is the test
    No sign of yesterday

Pull out the stop plugs, drain all the waste
    Who needs it anyway
Fill all the big holes, leave no trace
    No sign of yesterday

And I can’t hear you calling
    I can’t hear you calling
    I can’t hear you anymore
    Metal ships are falling
    This old car keeps stalling
Always seems to be the way

  70. Morning, DP, and Happy Friday!

Working at home today, waiting for one of those “between 8 and 3” appointments from a plumber to check out our hissing water heater. Finger’s crossed we won’t have to shell out for a new one – not now!

  71. I have the CUTEST new shoes! I’m wearing them today, but am dismally appalled at myself for not getting a pedicure first.

    Ooooh well.

Red shoes rock! (and they make me about 2 inches taller!)

  72. Just spent the last 40 minutes on the phone with Telus going over our new phone plans. It was strange, I spent 30 minutes talking with one person, he had no idea what I wanted so he transferred me. The girl went “ok” and had me renewed in only 10 minutes.

All in all we’re quite happy. Tomorrow we get our new smart phones and, even adding internet usage, our bills will only increase by $0.50 each. That’s the way it should be.

  73. Nomad Scry said:
My 15 makes me feel really young in comparison. I wonder if Amy’s 15 would help ameliorate that?

Maybe, maybe not. Most of mine are music my parents played around me when I was young, too.

    1. Various – The Sounds of England
    2. Rockapella – Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
    3. Simon and Garfunkel – Greatest Hits
    4. The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
    5. Tom Lehrer – That Was The Year That Was
    6. Vince Guaraldi – A Charlie Brown Christmas
    7. Geoffrey Burgon – Brideshead Revisited (1982 miniseries soundtrack)
    8. Rockapella – Primer
    9. The Moody Blues – Days of Future Passed
    10. Various – Grease movie soundtrack
    11. Santana – Supernatural
    12. Styx – Greatest Hits
    13. Klaus Badelt – Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
    14. Green Day – American Idiot
    15. Sting – Nothing Like the Sun

  74. I notice that my RSS reader (Google) only receives new information from the Deadpan boards at relatively large increments (more than half an hour) which leads to going from no comments to 35 comments in a fell swoop. The reader doesn’t seem to have that problem for other sites. Anyone have an idea as to why this happens or if I can do anything about it?

  75. UsedHair, Outlook’s rss reader only checks every hour. according to outlook that is the max update rate as set by the site admin. I assume that is some default because i get that warning for nearly all feeds i subscribe to

  76. Has anyone out there recently gotten a tankless water heater? I just got a quote for an astronomical amount (from a trusted plumber) and wonder if I’m being duped . . .

  77. Jack asks: What did Evo do?

I present this lovely Twitter transcript from earlier this morning.

Nomad_Scry: Gummy bears aren’t as good half a week later.
    10:42pm, Sep 09 from Echofon

twinklergirl: @Nomad_Scry Oh, yeah.. and the more stale and chewy the gummy bears are, the more made of win! I like the chewy!
    4:39am, Sep 10 from HootSuite

Nomad_Scry: @twinklergirl You like Dots, don’t you? 🙂 I prefer squishy to chewy. … Now why am I thinking of bugs all of a sudden…
    4:50am, Sep 10 from Echofon

twinklergirl: @Nomad_Scry Not a big fan of Dots, though, if I get a stale, red, one… I will treat it like hard candy. (trying not to say I’d suck on it) about 5 hours ago via HootSuite

evo_terra: RT @twinklergirl: If I get a stale, red one… I’d suck on it. [This tweet may have been edited from its original content.]

  78. Outlook. Don’t insult me thinking I use that piece of shit. I’m using Google’s RSS reader (insert joke about what crap Goole’s reader is here). It will update something like fail blog 3-4 times before it gets around to updating Dradpan. Even when I refresh the page (which updates everything else) it can’t get anything from Deadpan. Are there better readers out there (especially for Firefox) that other deadpanites are not having the same issue with?

  79. Speaking of Google Reader – why when I am reading the Deadpan can I click my center mouse button and scroll happily up and down without holding any buttons but when looking at my Google Reader feeds clicking the center mouse button does not give me my pretty little circle with arrows?

    grrrr

  80. I mention outlook because it told me there was a limit to update frequency.
I only use outlook because it is easy and always open anyway and I don’t have to clicking away when someone comes in it just looks like i’m looking at email

  81. Actually, just finished watching “Kick Ass”

Sort of a cross between “Mystery Men” and “Watchmen”

I liked it. Definitely interested in another chapter.

  82. While we’re on the subject of music, I need recommendations for new music. Could you please read the following characteristics and tell me the first (few) song(s) that come to mind?

    -relatively fast-paced
    -has a strong beat
    -newish
-has a clear crescendo or other change in musical sound
-has lyrics related to an angry reaction to a betrayal and/or to the idea of “waking up” and facing reality

This is for a creative challenge over on LiveJournal.

  83. I hate to be predictable, but “Watershed” by Opeth (2008) is a decent candidate. Harsh at times, but also beautiful at others.

I suppose there’d be a few songs on the new Apocalyptica that fit the requirements too.

  84. Amy, I was thinking “The Humpty Dance” but just stopped at newish. is also dons’t fit the rest of the criteria either
more seriously Lighting crashes by Live but it’s not fast

  85. Off the top of my head.

    -relatively fast-paced
    “Masquerade” – Symphony X

    -has a strong beat
    “Fame” – David Bowie

    -newish
Newish? Like something that sounds like an emerging style of music? I can’t think of anything.

-has a clear crescendo or other change in musical sound
“She Comes In Colors” – Nevermore

-has lyrics related to an angry reaction to a betrayal and/or to the idea of “waking up” and facing reality.
    “Brother” Warrel Dane

I think you can find all these songs on Youtube.

  86. Rhettro said:

I just meant “released within the last 15 years or so.” Thank you so much for the suggestions so far, everyone!

  87. “And the Maiden Spoke” is a great song.

She was a tortured soul in pain
    She whispered this dark refrain
“You’re not alone, so never be afraid
We are the cold and beautiful, you are the blue insane”

The concept of the “blue insane” is in many of their songs. I think I need to trace it’s origins.

  88. -relatively fast-paced = check
-has a strong beat = definitely check
    -newish = yup, 2009
-has a clear crescendo or other change in musical sound = sure-ish
-has lyrics related to an angry reaction to a betrayal and/or to the idea of “waking up” and facing reality = Hell to the yes

= The Decemberists – The Rake Song

If the lyrics don’t scare the crap out of you there is something really really wrong with you

  89. Ooooooooo! I’ve been waiting (very impatiently) until my AT&T contract runs out at the end of January to get a droid phone. I just did the math and I can save $50 per month for 5 months by switching to the Verizon family plan that my wife and daughter are already on. Even with the $80 fee for early contract cancellation and the $99 for the HTC Incredible, I will still come out $71 AHEAD by being impatient and getting a droid now! How cool is that?!

  90. I just said “That’s what she said…” in unison with CJ.

Okay, yeah and it is 2am on Saturday and I’m just now listening to the show.

    Please don’t judge.

  91. Wolf, not sure about the short shows, I was just getting into the music and the episode was over.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of shorter running podcasts, but this felt too short.

    Anyway my two pennies worth.

  92. I have hot Starbucks mocha and leftover pancakes that I made for dinner. Specifically, apple-cinnamon pancakes with oat bran. I make some excellent pancakes. YUM!

  93. I’m putting my Itouch away and going back to my older Nano for my main music player. The touch just isn’t a very good Ipod…..nor does Jobs want it to be.

  94. Finally got my new Audible credits. The new Brandon Sanderson book is coming down the pipe now. Seven parts, 45 HOURS of story. The hardcover edition is over 1000 pages.

If it’s anywhere close to what he managed in picking up The Wheel of Time, this should be a good read. Supposed to be the first of ten books he’s planned for this story.

  95. Well I splurged a bit on Xbox Live this weekend, got the Xbox versions of Plants Vs Zombies and the Scott Pilgrim game.

Been pricing HDMi leads, and although I knew how much high street stores were ripping people off…but 80 quid..WTF!

  96. The book that I downloaded is a new original series that Sanderson has started:

Amazon reviews look pretty promising so far:

    http://amzn.com/0765326353

Audible says it’s a two credit book, but they are running it on special for one credit through the end of October.

I’ve listened to the first thirty minutes and it sounds pretty good so far.

  97. Let me know what you think, Ed, but I admit I’m not too interested in his stuff.

I just went and spent a fortune at Costco. We’re now stocked up with fish and coffee beans and sugar free gum and all the junk I didn’t need to buy (and probably wouldn’t have if Sly B had been with me).

CW: Thintervention with Jackie Warner. What a crazy lezbo.

  98. I’d just like to say that it feels like it’s 9pm right now.
As though if I were to go outside, it’d be dark.
There are no windows here… maybe that’s why I feel this way?

  99. Ooooh. Just found the novelization of Dark Star in my library’s 50 cent bin. That goes next on my reading list.

CR: The Talisman – Steven King and Peter Straub

  100. Anybody know if Wii games have region coding that prevents other regions from using them?

Word is the new Doctor Who games will be released only in the UK, Australia, and parts of europe…

  101. Sorry to be the bearer of bad new JB, but Wii games are region coded.

If you hack your Wii, you may be able to get them to run:

    http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page

If your Wii is running the old 4.2 firmware or below, than there is a commercial product called Freeloader that may work, but whether you could still buy it is another matter.

  102. I scored that Blu-Ray set when it was on sale for a dollar more than they’re running it today. Definitely worth it!

I also got to start watching the first part of the BSG miniseries on Blu Ray that I bought when it was down to $130 on Amazon for the complete box set. Also definitely worth it. That was also a complete run on sentence.

  103. Rhettro: One of the other Livejournalists just commented on my creative challenge entry and said:

Love your song choice, and the ficlet is just awesome!

Thanks again for the advice.

  104. Wait. Your favorite is Martha? She was great in the season opener, but then they were hopelessly wishy washy with her character throughout the season. It was so annoying. One week she was a clueless neophyte chasing her lovelorn Doctor and the next she was a capable and confident confidante of the Doctor. And then back to pathetic and useless again the next week. Aaaaargh.

I’d go Rose, Donna, Amy, Martha. And Chris, Dave, Matt. =)

  105. So hubby and I went out to get our new phone on the weekend. There’s not a single store in Calgary that has either an i-phone or a Desire in stock. Besides the phone centre we contacted several Futureshop stores, BestBuy, and London Drugs. They are all back ordered but none of them would take an order. You have to call them on a regular basis to see if any have come in. I was very disappointed.

  106. My kitty’s happy. She has a clean bathroom and I just pulled some towels out of the dryer so she has a warm spot, on this chilly day, to sleep.

  107. Here’s something that pisses me off:

People who Email/IM a response to something and start with “Um.”

That just screams “I am an asshole.”

  108. I watched “Green Zone” this morning. I was a little disappointed because I thought it was going to be a Bourne knock-off. Which it was not. Really, not a bad movie at all, just not my oyster.

And then I fell down a lot trying to get past the 7th chapter in Mirror’s Edge. I’ve been playing it on and off since Feb or March? I’m -terrible- at platformers but I’m having a lot of fun with the simulated freerunning.

  109. We saw a GREAT film recently: La Mission

It’s set in San Francisco and focuses on a machisimo Chicano dad (played by Benjamin Bratt, who I LOVE) who’s son is outed and who doesn’t handle it well.

    Great flick.

  110. ditto: Mirror’s Edge is one of those games I can’t play around my kid because I’m trying to teach him to have some self control when he’s gaming… and I growl and curse and throw my controller while playing ME.

I also find myself standing inches away from the TV, tilted at odd angles, flailing as I try to mentally push her over the jumps.

  111. NS: Yep. That sounds about right.

7th chapter? If I recall, you are on one rooftop, behind a sign–yes, I know that describes about half the game–trying to get onto a different building and being shot to death by SWAT. Right? Yeah, I’m surprised my TV survived that one. It took me a while to figure that one out.

  112. Question for our “internet security savvy” friends.

After nearly a decade of flawless “Billpay” access, my bank decided to “improve” their system and now I can’t use Billpay.
When I contacted them about this they told me I need to allow my browser (they automatically assumed I had Explorer … grrrr) to accept all third party cookies.

Am I out of line in saying, “WTF!!!” ?
Paypal doesn’t ask me to do this. Neither does Bank of America or Discovery or any other secure, financial site I use.
I could see allowing cookies for a specific URL but to allow my computer to accept all 3rd party cookies … hasn’t that been determined to generally be a BAD idea – security wise?

  113. JJ: Did they tell you who the 3rd parties are?

In general, 3rd party cookies are used if a page is composed of content from companies other than the one you are visiting. They have some legitimate uses, but more often than not, they are used for ads and tracking. 3rd party cookies are a weak link and have been exploited by hackers in the past. So, I wouldn’t trust them in general.

If the company is asking you to enable all 3rd party access, I’d tell them to go stuff themselves.

  114. 7th chapter is the one on the boat. 8th starts off on the roof with Merc telling you he’s going to set up an intercept for your sister. And then you get chased by those freakin’ kick boxing, jumping bean dudes… ugh.

  115. Thanks ditto.

That’s sort of what I told them.
I requested that if they had a specific URL that they would like me to accept cookies from then I think I can make Firefox do that (can I ?) but if the solution to their site’s “improvement” was to have me lower my own computer’s level of security, it was time for me to switch banks.
I have yet to get a reply to this.

  116. jJ – That sounds a little sketchy, like bad tech support advice. I’d try it just to see if that actually did work, then put your settings back the way you had them. That way you’ll be able to tell support that it wasn’t that… probably.

  117. Very true. Without being spoilery, I really do hate watching Don’s spiraling down the crapper with his drinking. That is hard to see. J. Ham plays a very accurate drunk.

  118. There’s a woman on facebook posting some pics of her dead husband in memoriam.

However on one she calls a PS3 an Xbox, I don’t think it would be a good idea to correct her.

    I’ll get my coat.

  119. CR: The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet’s Nest, and the second Marla Mason novel by T.A. Pratt (can’t remember the title)

Man, those The Girl novels are wonderful

  120. I was put off buying the Windup Girl because of the crap the publisher was getting upto (not paying authors for a start).

Now maybe that won’t (or hasn’t) happened to PB because of the critical success of the book, but you have to wonder if the author will get a fair share of the royalties when a publisher gets upto shenanigans.

  121. I’m also interested in your thoughts on the book, ditto.

Did you see that Facebook is getting rid of the living social stuff so we’ll no longer be able to share books stuff there?

  122. Jack: I haven’t decided. It’s a good book so far, and an interesting world, but I’m not wow’ed by it. At least not yet.

Van: I didn’t know that about the publisher. Maybe I should send them an email.

EssBee: Nope, I hadn’t seen that. I haven’t posted any of my living social stuff this year, though I did a lot last year. I really dislike the sharing policies some of these groups have.

    BTW, I love that song.

  123. It seems Facebook is determined to kill anything that doesn’t generate a cut/bribe/extortion for Facebook.

We need some kind of foursquare for media.

  124. Sorry to enter the conversation so late. Workload was full today.

NS: What should I watch next: Solaris or Terminator Salvation?
Van: Although Solaris can come over s-l-o-w..
Jack: I actually gave up on the original Solaris.

I haven’t seen Terminator Salvation but Solaris was beyond slow. I found myself yelling at the screen like I was playing a bad video game (“I could have driven to Moscow myself by now… ENOUGH with the scene of driving on the highway!” etc.).

  125. That’s a good suggestion, a great suggestion, but I’ve already seen Fifth Element around ten times so I think it only fair to give a new movie a chance before I rewatch Fifth Element. Again.

  126. Morning Pan.

Looking back at yesterday’s comments I only have one reply:

Jack, hubby still subscribes to Dragon and Dungeon Magazines. The only thing is, they are now strictly e-format.

I think our coolness factor just dropped several points.

  127. So it’s cheap day at the arty farty cinema, waiting for Tamara Drew to start (British comedy) and it appears the audience is mostly pensioners.

Today is the day for nor feeling old…

  128. Amy, 7 a.m. Pacific is 8 a.m. MST.

Bunny, I’m up at 5 every day too, but at that hour, I generally drag my ass to the elliptical and work out, then make coffee and empty the dishwasher, then shower and beautify. I don’t usually look at the computer until 8 or so.

    JOe, LOL

  129. EssBee, I used to be the same. I’d work out for an hour then look at the computer about six or six-thirty but I haven’t been cleared to work out again yet so I get up at the same time (with hubby), shower, eat, etc. then sit my butt down in front of the computer.

  130. Life motors on EssBee. I finally see a specialist in early October so we have hopes I’ll be able to fly by Christmas. The in-laws want us to visit over the holidays.

  131. Jack might find this interesting, Dan Mangan, a musican from Vancouver, is up for the Polaris prize. This is a unique prize since it is cross-genre. A group of jurors look at all the albums released for the year and pick what they think is the best album overall, based solely on artistic merit. Last year, Fucked Up won. It tends to lean strongly towards indie artists.

  132. Hey Pan, been away a few days, just got caught up.

Amy: I really enjoyed your Inception fan fic. Hope to see more in the future.

Jack: I enjoyed the Clooney version of Solaris, the original looked a bit to old for me to follow.

  133. Bunny, I do hope you can keep motoring comfortably. . . . And I do hope I/we can help you with gas money. there’s plenty of somewhat naughty innuendo I can use to wrap up this sentiment, but I’ll choose the somewhat tacky *hugs* instead.

  134. And to end the tumbleweed trio:

Thanks for the info, ditto. You may recall that I discovered Dan Mangan’s music a few years ago and really liked it. I haven’t heard anything since. (no relation)

OK, off for meeting prep. :drevil:

  135. Jack: I recall that which is why I thought you’d be interested. Besides, I don’t believe you about the no relationship. Clearly he is some sort of clone since there is no way there could be more than one Mangan with excellent musical talent. Clearly you are the progenitor. 🙂

  136. So, in other news..

    It’s my day off. Hurrah!

I already completed the majority of my grocery shopping. Picked the boy up from school. When I pick up the girl, I shall go to Target for bubble bath.

Everyone has been so nice to me today; in parking lots, at the store, at the school..

It’s nice people being nice today day.

  137. Can someone explain to me the appeal and fascination with zombies? Cuz I don’t get it. Most of the time it is just the same thing over and over again. I suppose the same thing can be said about vampires, werewolves, and the like, but I’ve seen more inventiveness with those tropes than I’ve seen with zombies.

  138. I don’t know if MS are doing the same offer in North America, but you can 40% off you next renewal for Xbox Live gold membership if you are prepared to pay now.

  139. EssBee: Oh, yeah. I got it backwards. Thanks for correcting the time difference for me.

Rhettro: Thank you very much! All my Inception fanfic so far is up on my LJ, except for two drabbles that I haven’t put up there yet. Here’s a link that displays all the Inception-related entries on my LJ. There are 3 pages of them already! 0_0

  140. I may not make it to the one near me, Amy, but I wanted to share the info. I hope you enjoy. 🙂 I’m so happy for the return of pumpkin-flavoring season.

And hey, good job with the fanfic and the positive feedback.

Did. . . .did you actually use the F-word in one of your stories??

  141. Shut up. The F-word?!

Speaking of pumpkin-flavoring, I found a recipe for pumpkin grits which I plan to try soon. I have always been a big fan of grits for breakfast, but have had them more often since I embarked on the gluten-free detour.

  142. Yes, I did. The moderators of the Inception drabble community that I belong to on LJ picked that as the prompt a couple of weeks ago. Using it publicly like that was slightly uncomfortable.

  143. Well that explains it. 🙂 I can’t abide the use of cursewords. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

ditto: I agree about the zombie thing. How overdone is this going to get?

EssBee: We didn’t eat a whole lot of grits back in NJ.

  144. I was just glancing back through some of the comments pages I’ve missed this summer, and I found this:

    jackmangan Says:
    August 6th, 2010 at 11:44 am

Amy, if you’re out there, we’d all love to hear how your big night went!

Jack is referring to the night I performed three songs live on stage at a songwriter showcase at a bar. I had a lot of fun, even though the last song was extremely awkward-sounding. I should have made my guitarist listen to the demo I had of that one. But hey, for having practiced together for all of five minutes before the performance, I think we did all right. Pictures and video were taken, but aren’t online, sadly. 🙁

  145. RE: Zombies

While a lot of the genre doesn’t appeal to me much, I did enjoy Zombieland and the Resident Evil series is something of a guilty pleasure.

  146. don’t you mean before most of deadpan has gone to bed? or do you not mean right now?

and does anyone care that I don’t feel like capitalizing anything… accept for that I back there. … and that one that just passed. I can’t not capitalize I when I say I … unless I say eye.

    ay yi yi

  147. I don’t know what you’re talking about. That bridge wasn’t naked and (I hope) didn’t look anything like Huhg’s naked butt.

he, he, he… I said Hugh naked butt.

  148. I’m finally home from a very pleasant evening of studying and enjoying a Pumpkin Ice Blended drink at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I just recorded and sent in my lines for 60 Lines Part 3.

  149. I appreciate your caution, Dre. Maybe you should take extra looks at Hugh’s butt, in our stead. Deadpan is not a place of porn OR censorship, but art is always welcome.

It’s really great to see your art again 🙂 And great to see you in a mindframe where you can devote some thought to your art again.

  150. But you couldn’t eat a whole one NS?

Gales forces winds are blowing, the beach should be bleak today, yah!

I doubt I’ll see any large wildlife, the seals tend to congregate further North from where I live.

  151. Well they are . . .

Top of the mornin’ to ya. I just finished The Girl Who Kicked A Hornet’s Nest via audiobook and loved the whole series. Thumbs up.

Now what to listen to . . .

  152. In the news today Canada jumped 13 spots and is now 88th in the World Cup standings.

I suppose it’s good we’re up but 88th? I’m beginning to wonder if Canada will make the series during my life time.

  153. Thanks everyone.
it feels good to get back into it.
I’ve spoken to Jack about this, it has been very difficult to feel creative when I have been so focused on hughs treatment. I have only taken photos of San Francisco since I have been here, which is unusual for me.

Van- I agree with you, actually.
I feel like my nude photography is less sexual and more just an exploration of the beauty of the human form. A naked body is too obvious. When I shoot nude models, I tend to explore more the use of shadows and the composition to high-light the beauty I see. The human body is a work of art. I don’t look at a nude body and think its more sexually attractive.
A photo like the 1 you mentioned from above, i also find that photo to be more sensual, more attractive. The inclusion of clothes allows for more flirting with the camera which makes it that much more interesting.

  154. It has a very intimate feel.
Not like you (the viewer) are getting a glimpse of something private … but more like you are an accepted part of it. Like those who are in the photo know you are there and that is just fine.

  155. there is nothing wrong with soap operas, just wasn’t expecting it on Eureka.

I admit to watching All My Children, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place in my day.
I thought Eureka would be more than that.

I will also now admit to watching Vampire Diaries which is also a total soap opera.

  156. hay pan, so I’ve been busy at work lately and it going to get busier for the next 6-9 months. I got chosen for green belt training as part of our Lean 6 sigma program. I’ll try to keep up and stop in when I can.
it really is nice to work at a company were you actually feel valued and like you are part of a team that maters

  157. “The different stages of being unclothed:

    nude = art
naked = on the verge of being offensive- could go either way
    Nekkid= porn

I enjoy all three forms. 🙂

  158. and I nearly forgot I’m starting a dart league tonight.
I was told 18 grams is the limit for weight on the darts.
since I inherited most of my darts and dart parts from my brother I hope they are not to heavy.

  159. ditto, It is electronic here to. I prefer steel tips also but it is my first year so I guess it is better that way till my aim comes back to me. it’s been a few years since I shot

  160. You know, it’s got to qualify as irony that status updates from Mike Mennenga inevitably come right before or after ones from Evo Terra in my Facebook feed.

  161. just got done with darts. 301 was a bit of a bust because of handy caps (i started at 396) but we rocked them at cricket even with the other team being spotted at least 5 shots each game we either kicked there asses or only lost by 1 shot.
next week should be better because the handy capping will have something to go by rather than just giving us a big disadvantage.

  162. Rhettro: That’s a nice picture!

    LostRalph: Hi there!

I spent most of the day today cleaning the disastrous mess in my bedroom and rearranging the furniture to make way for my new dresser. I won’t be able to move it in for a while, though, because it still needs to be refinished. I’m looking forward to putting it in there, though, and I really like my new non-messy room.

  163. LostRalph: *waves back* lol! sorry

All this “nude vs. naked” discussion reminds me of this poem that I read in high school. I’m still not entirely sure what it means, but you might find the poet’s thought’s interesting.

    Good night, mush.
