But don’t worry, I am going to take care of this. Not pleased.
Sorry. Thanks for your patience while I deal with these technical difficulties.

Hey, just a heads up:
Deadpan episode 87 is going to spend a lot of time discussing and celebrating the 1984 Punk Rock cult classic film, Repo Man. So if you’ve seen the movie and would like to play along, then e-mail or voicemail your Repo Man comments, thoughts, observations, stories, etc. They’ll be in the episode.
If this movie has somehow eluded your attention for all these years, then check it out! Rent, buy, steal, borrow, do whatever you have to do.
So let’s use this as a milemarker. The last conversation can end at (roughly 443, for those playing Greasy Jelly Bean). The new one can begin here.
Comments from the previous week can count toward Greasy Nipples. I’ll figure out a system.
Sigh. . . . I don’t know yet if I like this.
But Libsyn is acting very slow. Fingers crossed. Possibly my middle fingers.
It will get up there sooner or later.
Paul Cole of the Beam Me Up podcast and 93.3 WRFR in Rockland, Maine is going to release a reading of my short story, “The Unsolvable Deathtrap”! The story airs on radio today, 10/6, at 4:30EST, and the podcast will follow shortly after. All are encouraged to give a listen. I have yet to hear it myself — I can’t wait.
“The Unsolvable Deathtrap” originally appeared in Interzone #202.
Cox Cable are “doing work in the area”, so my overnight internet connection is spotty. I’ve tried twice to upload Deadpan #74, only to have service interrupted. So – the file is uploading now (at 21% as of this writing!), but no guarantees that it will finish.
Sorry.
Fingers crossed, going to lie down. If they continue to be Cox overnight, then I’ll upload in the morning.
No, I’m just referring to my latest Pod news. Check out my official debut as an Escape Pod reader!
I was fortunate enough to read a story by the brilliant Jetse de Vries, “Transcendence Express“. Check it. No exploding spaceships, no dilithium crystals, just progressive ideas.
Many thanks to Steve Eley for the opportunity.
For those who aren’t already aware: My main e-mail address has been flaking out. For almost a month now.
grrrrr
If you’ve tried to reach me at Zjack@jackmanganZ.comZ (minus the “Z’s”), then your attempt has most likely failed, or been severely delayed. Sorry about this; please don’t think that I’m ignoring you. Yahoo tech support assures me that they are working on this issue. Sigh. In the meantime, you can try to hit me at Qharmonypatrician@yahooQ.coQm (minus the “Q’s”). Same inbox, but seemingly a more reliable address.
Keep the Deadpan content and communication coming, Deadpanites.
Deadpan is the whey.
Actually not my fault this time. . .
Cox screwed up the 69. Cox being my Internet provider. There was a service outage all night last night. Sorry. I’m about to switch to Qwest.
Coming Soon.
Jack will be back online this week as will Deadpan.
Thank you for your patience and your awesomeness.
The end.
