  1. Morning Pan

We survived the insane heat (by Canadian standards) of yesterday. It made for a very restless sleep last night. Now the weather is suppose to become a little more normal

  2. We’ve been busy already! We weatherized our fence and patio cover at dawn, then cleaned the patio up. Then we attacked the house, which now looks spotless. Next up: Lunch and then brewing my first batch of beer!

Lo, Lucky Louie is fantastic! We watched 3 episodes last night and LOL’d. I haven’t seen so many full montys in I don’t know how long.

  3. A friend of mine works for the City of Calgary planning department. He has been asked to set up a “home office” as city offices won’t be usable until mid august earliest due to flood damage. His wife’s a teacher so that means spending the summer with her. Breaks their hearts

    • They should make a B Horror movie about that.

“First came Jaws… Then Piranha ate you up… NOW prepare for “Night of the Midges”!!”

  4. I laughed this morning. On Facebook, Bing translated someone’s statement as:
    “Your-cum! This one! In mouth-watering….”

  5. A short while ago I purchased Kingdom Builder. We first played it this past Friday with some friends. We then played it yesterday with different friends. Hubby picked up the IPad app. Now he plays it constantly. I think he might like the game

  6. So had a good time at the traditional music festival, the midges did cause bit of a downer, got about about a hundred bites and now have a series of lumps all over my body.

  7. Has been a long day of driving (Texas is big, in case ya didn’t know) – but the kids are successfully delivered to summer camp and I am back home.

    • You and the Misses?
      Kids off at camp?

      Let the Antler Dance commence!

(normally, this is where I would insert the link to an old SNL clip showing the infamous “antler dance” bit … but it seems that doesn’t exist on the interwebs. Lots of people replicating it but no original clip. Sorry.)

  8. Crap reeneck joke for the day:

One day, Jimmy Joe was walking down Main Street when he saw his buddy Bubba driving a brand new pickup. Bubba pulled up to him with a wide grin. “Bubba,” said Jimmy Joe, “where’d you get that truck?” “Bobbi Sue gave it to me,” Bubba replied. “She gave it to you? I knew she was kinda sweet on ya, but a new truck?” said his skeptical friend. “Well, Jimmy Joe, let me tell you what happened. We were driving out on County Road 6, in the middle of nowhere. Bobbi Sue pulled off the road, put the truck into 4-wheel drive, and headed into the woods. She parked the truck, got out, threw off all her clothes and said, ‘Bubba, take whatever you want!’ So, I took the truck!”
“Bubba, you are one smart man!” said Jimmy Joe. “Them clothes woulda never fit you.”

    • I recall a guitar magazine article where Dave Mustaine described hanging out at Kerry King’s house, before they each hit the big time with their own band’s. According to him, KK’s mom was this poodle-skirted Donna Reed type, while his dad was an L.A. cop who called everyone “asshole”. It’s fascinating that this couple produced Kerry King, who Dave said would carve pentagrams into the family couch while he was there.

  9. Well, we watched the lasted Die Hard tonight (the one set in Russia), courtesy of Redbox.

I have generally enjoyed the Die Hard series, especially the first two.

But this was some of the most incoherent crap I’ve ever seen put to film. I feel like my IQ has taken a hit from sharing the same room as the disc the movie came on.

  10. Walked 3.6 miles in 101 degree heat + humidity.

We did it vigorously and without mercy.

We did it all for the golden spoon.
