Sister one: it doesn’t make sense
Sister two: yeah I know
Exactly
Sleep paralysis is harmless
Don’t fight the evil
Their parents are… strange
The night comes…
The spider lands on her open eye
The evil comes
Good sister feels it
Beth is dead
Mom gets medical attention
The funeral
Hippy boyfriend is sad
A stranger approaches
He looks stunned
I know what happened
I can’t decide if it’s terrible acting or if the parents are meant to be so dazed
Beth’s room
She wants to stay in Beth’s room
Beth I hear you calling…
(Channelling my inner KISS)
The cat is freaked
Now it’s caged
She gave the cat to hippy boyfriend
*cough*
Why didn’t you say anything?
Calling stranger doctor
Showing a case study
Wait, why is good sister staying in Beth’s room? She has her own home
Some of the pics in the “case study” can be found on the net if you google “old hag syndrome”
Bath time. Nothing bad will happen
Just ignore the inky black water
Calling Kate
Back for round two
Looking up stunned doctor
He knows how cheesy this sounds
Cheryl Crow talks about sleep paralysis
Crashing at Beth’s hippy boyfriend’s place
Hippy boyfriend has a wet dream
And loses his tongue
I still don’t understand why she’s back at her parents
Fringe science
Coffee time
She doesn’t trust hubby with his secretary
Shared night paralysis
You’re imagination is going nuts
Doctor Sykes is mad
Stop visiting Beth’s hippy boyfriend
Yes, lets sleep on it
Huh?
Time to drink wine from a bottle
Ok, lets see if I get this straight. Her sister dies, she moves back home to stay in her sister’s room, doesn’t seem to work anymore, hangs with sister’s hippy boyfriend, and has the same dreams as sister
Sure
Watching hubby get it on
Hubby doesn’t see
Linda dies
You can’t blame imaginary evil for life’s misfortunes
Why do people always knock instead of using the doorbell?
Stunned doctors house is full of strange stuff
Once you believe in the hag, she comes to you more often
Don’t stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
OMG she used the doorbell
Yes, she has a business card. You can’t get those unless you’re legit
Bright lights
Pang is crazy
Yeah, tell the man it’s real that will make it stop
The man that never sleeps
Yeah, fall asleep while driving. That will end well
The viscous cycle
Adrenaline will wake you as you sleep
How will you know?
I am fine, says the stunned doctor
Contact
Here she comes
Her eyes are closed
Of course
Did it work?
Time to try it on him
Nope, now the parents
Good parking job
Mom’s gone
Time to feed the cat
Come talk to me while I’m in the shower
Hippy boyfriend is falling asleep
The painting is bleeding
Bare bottom
Cpr
So much for Evan
Oh wait. Maybe not
You still have to face it
Time to face her fear
Blah, blah, blah. Stunned doctor is talking too much
Really? He let her give herself the shot? What kind of doctor is he?
She went to bed with her shoes on
This movie is actually making me tired
Come on Kate
Oh oh, his machine is broken
Time to join her
Wow. Evil hag is easily distracted
Where is Hassan?
His lights must be out, that’s why she’s using a candle
Trying to wake herself up
Fighting with her dead sister
She killed her sister
The tables have turned
She must have choked a squid
Wait, she just leaves?
She will carry on stunned doctor’s work
Ha! Take that sensible doctor
There you go.
Meh. It was a movie
**applause**
Fascinating, kinda frightening read. I might seriously get the app.
An explanation of Stephen King’s IT from a different perspective:
Stephen King’s IT is a boggart from Harry Potter. He becomes what ever you fear the most and the only way to get rid of him is to stop being afraid. The whole movie is a bunch of muggles trying to get rid of a boggart without using magic.
Whoa.
Chelsea Wolfe’s latest offering previewed by NPR. Dark delights.
He was a fascinating guy, if Wikipedia is to be believed. For example, he wrote the play, “The Unseen Hand,” which later influenced Richard O’Brien to create Rocky Horror.
Everyone must read this. And then someone with money and connections must make this into a short film.
Morning Pan
Washrooms are cleaned, a load of laundry is in, and I emptied the dishwasher. So far it’s been a productive morning.
CP: “Bad Ones” — Matthew Dear feat. Tegan & Sara
Update on the website. You know how I had originally suggested going with HostGator? I take that back. By the time you add in a WYSISYG web builder and other such things, it gets a little pricy.
I’ve been meaning to re-read this series for a while, so this seems like a good excuse to me. I remember enjoying it quite a bit, especially since it is a different cyberpunk atmosphere than the typical classics, since the main characters are Muslim.
finished watching The OA on Netflix yesterday. I really liked that show
It’s weirdness makes it a bit of a marmite show.
Love it or hate it seems to be the main reaction.
I’m on the “love” side of it. However, it took until the end before I decided that.
Would that make The Wiggles a vegemite show?
Off to that leaky boat they sing of.
What civil race discussions look like across races:
The tracklist from the hour of magic that is the new Electric Six cover album
1 Kids In America – Kim Wilde
2 Rasputin – Boney M
3 Union Of The Snake – Duran Duran
4 Drenched In Blood – Turbonegro
5 Animal Day – Wall of Voodoo
6 Dirty Laundry – That one Eagles Guy that’s not Glenn Frey
7 Magic Dance – David Bowie from Labyrinth
8 Seminole Bingo – Warren Zevon
9 Last Night I Had A Dream – Randy Newman
10 Vow – Garbage
11 Nightclubbing – Iggy Pop
12 Young Americans – More Bowie
The Turbonegro and Duran Duran pieces may be among the finest songs E6 have ever recorded.
Okay, I would listen to that.
Their 2112 cover is pretty hard to beat.
OK got everything taken care of for the day now I can finally get to the stuff I’d been planning to work on fuck it’s midnight.
Morning Pan
5:30a.m. Yeah
Crap joke for the day:
Jon starts working in a lumber camp. The boss says, “We work twelve hours a day, we eat two meals a day, lights out at ten-thirty, and you can put your dick in the barrel over there for a blow job any day but Thursday.”
Jon says, “Why not Thursday?”
The boss says, “Because Thursday is your turn in the barrel.”
Some good points, but the article seems to be written by a person looking from the outside of the metal scene. Not sure how I strong I feel about someone’s fashion sense leading them to discover Metal.
Yeah, we snickered about this on the MetalAsylum.net FB page. Rich says I shouldn’t expect better of Billboard. I guess he’s right.
I’ll have to go their and snicker with you. haha
If you are a US audible fan, John Scalzi’s Collasping Empire is today’s audible daily deal.
So I’ve been watching the Ken Burns documentary on the Vietnam War.
I just wish there was more from the Vietnamese side, the US side has been done to death.
So that was weird. Anyway I owe Jack $25. Thanks for lunch Jack. 🙂
I was giving you some mild crap about it – – but it’s all good. We’ll just have to meet for lunch again soon!
Yep., for sure.
So hey – – this is a shout out to all local Deadpanites. We have an extra Depeche Mode ticket for next week. Any interested parties?
D’oh! I wish I was local!
Come out for a day trip. We have an extra bed!
I wish. I have to be at a conference next week.
Hubby and I have decided we both quite like The Orville. Episode 3 was pretty deep for a comedy show
We just got around to episode 2 today (interestingly, the FOX app is allowing episode without a cable/satellite login). I like the cut of its jib.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle – like the first one, but more so. I approve and definitely theater worthy.
I think that’s on our dance card.
Dear Lord, that was really Oberyn Martell as the lasso wielding Statesman?
I don’t know what to believe anymore. I did not recognize him.
I wouldn’t recognize him with eyes.
Yesterday was the first day of autumn. The weatherman was explaining that while this is essentially true, here in Canada, our autumnal equinox doesn’t start until Monday.
Oh look, no apocalypse.
Hooray!
Isn’t invisible Planet X colliding with Earth later today?
Oh and the journalist John Pilger hits the nail on the head:
I haven’t watched the Ken Burns Vietnam series. He’s historically been pretty good about calling out uncomfortable truths. Disappointing if that article is true.
The article’s other points merit applause.
i cant use what i cant abuse
Facebook celebrated my 7 years of friendship with Ken! Yes!
It’s a new day and look! We all made
It! No planet collision
sweet
We played Terraforming Mars with a friend last night. He was constantly bombarding Mars with asteroids, nuclear weapons, and other such things. It this close enough?
Haven’t we learned from Einstein? Don’t play dice with the universe!
All these fucking assholes freaking out about the players taking a knee… go fuck yourself with the crown of your KKK hood.
I do love that this is hitting the evil racist fucks right in their football-shaped hearts.
Just finished watching the first two episodes of ST Discovery. Is it wrong that, so far, I think I like The Orville better?
I don’t think anyone cares if it’s “wrong”.
My FB feed is 68% Star Trek, 10% Orville, 20% Football players taking the knee, 2% picture of food.
I myself didn’t watch any of those things on TV today.
I find the “taking a knee” thing to be very very clever and symbolic gesture.
I don’t know if this is Kapernic’s intention … but in sports, when a participant is terribly injured – even if it is your opponent- you take a knee until that player can get up or is helped off to receive treatment.
It is a sign of respect. A sign of respect for that player and really for the game itself.
So IMO “Disrespectful” would be to be to clown around during the anthem or maybe even to turn your back on the flag.
Taking a knee during the national anthem is actually (within the professional sports world) a very respectful way of acknowledging that this country is hurt and you are watching hopefully, to see it get back on it’s feet.
Just my 2cents worth
“Kapernic” should be “Kaepernick”
J0e, you’re points only count for white people. If Tom Brady had taken a knee against Obamacare, we’d have airports named after him already.
I blame the phone for the “you’re/your” foul.
In the US we have freedom of expression. That expression isn’t limited by whether people find it upsetting or disrespectful. Racism is real and people have sacrificed their lives to allow people to have free expression. Both points are valid and enduring different viewpoints is part of being an American, or at least it should be.
I honestly can think of few things MORE “American” than peaceful protest against authority.
Watched the first Ep of Orville. I found the writing to be a bit sloppy (so much exposition… can’t you let us discover some of this back story as the season progresses ?) and over-all it was just trying to hard to be … something.
That being said, I am really pulling for it and will give it more tries.
Nope, but keep an eye out for for the mob of pitchfork carrying ST fans.
It was the funeral of a Meter Maid. As the coffin was lowered into the ground, a voice from inside screamed:
“Let me out! I’m still alive! Let me out!”
The Vicar smiles, leans forward, sucking air through his teeth:
“Too fucking late Pal, I’ve Already done the paperwork”
Ha!
I am confused by an earlier post about Electric Six.
Was that an Album of covers by them?
So it appears! They’d done at least one previously too.
What is the name? I was unable to find it in their wikipedia discography.
Their first covers album was the first disc on the “Mimicry and Memories” album and the one they just came out with is Disc 1 of “Youre Welcome”. Both were available only through pledgemusic.
They are turning up on youtube tho.. and I just bet I know where you can find the mp3s….
My old college English professor published a novel last year. I’d kept loosely in touch with him, and always liked his class, so I figured I’d check it out.
The book’s about an aging professor (hmmmm), and at one point in the beginning, he mentions occasionally hearing from former students who are “leading unremarkable lives.”
Buuuuurrrrnnnnn!!!!
Cough
He obviously means his other former students who he’s been in touch with.
My life has been anything but unremarkable. In many ways, I’d have been happy with unremarkable.
I ended up not doing accounting. Instead I worked on the newsletter and the new website instead
Well, we finished the 2nd part of the new Star Trek premiere. While it looks impressive, I’m a bit meh on it right now. We’ve been subscribed to the CBS thing for a long time already, so I expect we’ll continue to watch the new Trek and see how it goes. I think I’m mostly meh about the choice for another prequel setting.
After three episodes of The Orville, I’m definitely on board for the rest of the season. I didn’t come in with any particular feelings about Seth MacFarlane one way or the other, but I’ve enjoyed the combo of sci-fi exploration laced with some snark along the way.
The consensus I’ve seen has been positive for the new Trek. There was a lot of initial meh for The Orville, but the third episode seems to have won everyone over. I still haven’t seen either.
Any advice on good steam games? I picked up 5 Nights at Freddy’s because I’ve always wanted to play it. I would also pick up Portal, but it’s $20 (kind of steep for a game that old).
I don’t think we’re the right generation for 5 Nights at Freddy’s. . .
It was only $5. Worth a try.
So Five Nights at Freddy’s is just watching video feeds and jump scares?
1. I have no idea how this became so popular. Judging by all the merchandise, I thought there was going to be so much more action.
2. I really need to watch some game play online before I buy anything else.
Wait until around December, then everything goes on sale. This also happens around June.
They are making a movie base on Annihilation. I wonder if the will be as incomprehensible as the book.
Apparently his repub opponent, Luther Strange is as evil as his name suggests – – but still not as bad as this guy.
So this was a choice that was SO bad, many people just didn’t vote.
Roy Moore – If there was such a thing as “Christian Taliban” HE would be their poster boy. If his radical social views wrapped in a veneer of religion weren’t bad enough … he ran for and accepted the job of “Chief Justice” and then immediately decided that the law was what ever HE said it was. He told the Supreme Court F.U. when they reminded him that he was supposed to follow and enforce the laws of the United States and he kicked out of office. Our country is falling appart and the last thing we need is someone who decides the rules are what ever they personally woke up and believed that day.
Luther Strange – he is the stereo-typical southern Politian right out of central casting. He will say what ever he needs to say to get elected and then do/say what ever he needs to do for those running the show to keep his comfy position. He is here to embed himself into the system like a parasite and then see how much Luther Strange can get for Luther Strange. Honestly, he had his nose soooo far up trump’s butt that it probably took a half dozen secret service agents to dislodge him.
There is the slight possibility things could work out though. If the Democrat the Moore will face is “center” enough it just might cause some of the Republican Roy Moore haters who did not vote (and there were a lot of them), to cross over. Pretty slim chance though. They probably will just not vote in the general election.
Netflix music doc recommendation of the day: “Who the F**K is That Guy”?
About the gay NYC kid who became a major music industry player, signing acts like Metallica, Metal Church, Nina Simone. Really interesting life, plus a fascinating glimpse of NYC.
Added to list!
Talking of Netflix, watching the Jerry Seinfeld’s stand up routine and finding it painfully unfunny.
His stand up has never been funny.
Who are. . . these people?
Honestly… Seinfeld was maybe the funniest and most groundbreaking show to hit the airwaves since MASH. How he can be so atrocious live and write that show at the same time… oh wait.. Larry David? Zat you?
Judginb by how good CYE is, it was probably more Larry David than Jerry.
Some of Jerry’s stage material is clever, but he’s funniest when he’s offstage, just being himself, playing off other funny people.
DEPECHE MODE!!!!!
…and a baby ultrasound!!!
It was a great day 🙂
Dave Gahan is truly one of the great frontmen of our generation. They put on an amazing show.
It’s 5a.m. do you know where your pillow is?
More importantly, do I know where my pillow is?
There, two titles formatted and ready to sell. Now, back to web building.
Considering how tarnished the images of Asimov and Clarke have become, I found her ideas on the works of Heinlien to be intriguing.
He was apparently a strange old coot with some funny ideas – – that evolved over the course of his writing career – – but I’ve never heard of him being a major mega-creep like Clarke. Or a less major mega-creep, like Isaac.
Yup, the author is making the claim he was more liberal than libertarian, looking forward to reading her arguement.
This weekend we are having people new to tabletop gaming over.
I will die before hubby. But I will NOT be crying.
I’ve never read VanderMeer. I’d always thought he was a Steampunk guy?
For those who’ve read it – – Was the book difficult but good? Or just difficult?
Personally, I found it just difficult. But I did the audiobook version and could not stand the reading interpretation. It’s very hard for me in these situations to tell whether it was 50% reading / 50% writing or 100% reading / 0% writing or any other breakdown. I just know I didn’t like it. I had the same problem with Star Wars Aftermath and Dan Simmons Hyperion.
I loved the hell out of Hyperion, but that was 20+ years ago (holyshit).
I’m currently listening to the audiobook of Hyperion and enjoying it (although I did enjoy the book when I first read it).
It uses different people to voice the main characters, which I prefer on the rare books it is done for.
I wish I had listened to that version. The one that I heard was voiced by a single female reader who found it appealing to read everything in a monotone sing-songy almost hypnotized-sounding voice. Drove me crazy.
Though, if I recall correctly, they only have the full voice cast for the first Hyperion book. The other and the Endymion books have a single narrator, though he does a great job of it.
Given the structure of the first book, it benefits the most from the multi voice cast, though it was a bit jarring getting used to the second book with one narrator for those same characters.
He kops off with Sally Hawkuns in that new film so not all bad.
I’m late for the party (as usual) but I finally saw the new Star Trek 1st episode. Over-all I liked it. Production wise I thought it had a really great look (although by 15 minutes in, I was ready for them to lay-off of the “lens flair” filter).
Also, I am not down with re-inventing the look of their major adversary … AGAIN.
Other than that I am looking forward to episode #2.
No one told me Adrianne Palicki was in the Orville.
I’m not familiar with Lazarus. But I’m definitely excited/scared for Snow Crash and Ringworld. I love both, but they are each dated in their own particular ways and I fear for how they will be modernized. They are also both quite “thinky” books and I fear the intelligence will be passed over in favor of special effects and “action”. If anything, Ringworld might just do better as a TV series as there is a lot more social drama that TV writers will be able to fart around with.
With the exception of Saga, Lazarus is the most well constructed, deeply world built, engrossing comic on the market. To say I recommend it highly is a massive understatement.
Fuck this idea with Forever Carlyle’s sword.
If Amazon gives these properties the same love as “The Man in the High Castle” will be totally supportive of this.
I never cared much for Richard Nixon but after the latest episode of “The Vietnam War” I really REALLY hate him.
I’d welcome that POS with open arms if he could replace the orange dictator.
There are way to many similarities between Nixon an trump.
Will we (as a country) never, ever learn?
Nixon was as corrupt as they come, but he was a competent politician. Trump is too incompetent to even know he is corrupt. As a country we are really getting hosed by the electoral system. In the name of state’s rights we get a president you the majority of the public didn’t want and a group of radical politicians chosen by 10 percent of the population to represent the other 90 percent. Politics will prevent getting this problem fixed. I think are best hope is if we can at least get a tiered voting system, where we can vote for a 3rd party candidate without it being a vote for the people we don’t want to see in office.
I’m not a violent person, but if I ever ran into Kissinger I would be tempted to knock him out, the words ‘murdering bastard’ are an understatement.
Ahhh. But what about Dr. Killinger? I wouldn’t mind meeting him.
Please change the wording in the article name! The debates need to die, not the female writers!
Happy Primus and Propaghandi day!!!!!!!
Apparently I need to start all over in my search for a roofing contractor.
My spidey senses have been telling me that something wasn’t right and it now those who now that industry are warning me that I should move along.
Now … how do I sack this guy.
I hate dealing with contractors 🙁
Vaseline on the roof shingles?
(Disclaimer: it’s just a joke)
Hey Deadpan. I’m doing a play by play with a twist Netflix has this series from 2013 called Portal Into the Unknown. Apparently it’s about real life haunting and It looks hokey as hell
The write up: unsolved cases from the past, mysterious lights in the sky, tales of ghosts and demons. Open a door to the supernatural

Was the show any good?
Meh. It was pretty typical “true stories” based in Canada. I’m not a big believer so its more like the type I usually watch
“Even for those of us who review TV programs for a living, it’s difficult to capture the breadth, depth and scope of “Inhumans’” awfulness” Ouch.
We will be recording it and probably won’t see it until next week
Yikes!
We apparently weren’t worthy enough for Agent Carter….so we get this instead.
I don’t want to live on this planet anymore….
I can’t believe a serious show about a woman with prehensile hair, a guy whose voice knocks down buildings, and their giant teleporting dog wasn’t a hit.
Watched the first two episodes and it’s greater sin is that it’s just boring.
Morning Pan
This evening we’re going to help some friends lose their gaming virginity.
What game is that?
We’re starting with Love Letter, then moving on to Splendor, followed by either Ticket to Ride or Lords of Waterdeep.
So about a third of the way through Hyperion.
Either I skimmed the book when I first read it or my memory is truly fucked.
Some big parts of the characters story i’ve Completely forgotten about.
It is a massive story.
I read all four books and really enjoyed them, though I think Hyperion is my favorite. And yes, it is a massive story. 😀
I remember guesting on KAMN years ago and being frustrated that they were judging book 1 poorly solely by itself. They especially hated the non-ending. I was telling them that Dan Simmons had written it as 1 huge book that his publisher split into 2. If you only read book 1, you’re not getting any resolution on any of the stories.
I was annoyed with that too. I didn’t know that it was one book split into two. While I prefer books to have some sort of resolution, a non-ending is only bad if it doesn’t make you want to read the sequel. “Hyperion” did that in spades for me. It is still very memorable after reading it over 20 years ago.
Like Damning LOTR for Frodo not getting to Mount Doom at the end of Book 1.
I think I made the Fellowship of the Ring comparison on KAMN!
I watched “What Happened to Monday” over my work trip last week. It was good, even if it was predictable. Glenn Close is creepy as ever.
I haven’t read the book, enjoyed the adaptation. If ‘enjoyed’ is the right word to use.
That new Kingsman movie is — no exaggeration — worse than Showgirls. Worse than Red Sonja. Worse than most MST3K movies. Sweet fuck.
I enjoyed it!
Batman Forever. Conan the Destroyer. Suicide Squad.
NO! Batman Forever was a good film.
AlSO YES. This Kingsman film, I have heard, rivals shit beyond compare
Go listen to a Toadies album. Get that taste out yo mouth
The Stars Above/He’ll Below title track is pretty special.
Batman Forever — the one with Jim Carrey?
I actually liked Batman Forever, not my favorite, but much better than Batman Returns with the Penguin puking up black stuff every other scene. Conan the Destroyer is pretty dated these days, but it seemed to capture a greater sense of adventure than the first film. And Suicide Squad? I got nothin….
What about Battlefield Earth?
You are dead to me, good sir! While it could have used a few nips and tucks to the run time (and apparently an hour was already cut out from what we ended up with on screen), it was every bit as epic as the original.
This is the internet, we can’t have different opinions about things! /s
Right, we have to get into a mean-spirited flame war because we disagree. Mr. Poopypants!
Seriously tho, I don’t get it with one. It’s slightly better than Space Mutiny. Slightly.
This is bad, the fact that mass killings in the US has become almost the norm is also bad:
I wouldn’t call them the norm but each one does seem more heinous than the last.
I will say this and I have always said this… While I appreciate the “pray for Vegas” or “pray for Alberta” or “pray for London” or “pray for Paris” mantras, it’s bullshit that there is never a “pray for (insert country or city with a predominantly non-white population here)” when this type of violence happens. It doesn’t even have to be violence. Look at the was Houston and Florida were treated in the media and by those in power as opposed to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean as a whole. Those places were nearly wiped off the map and said media can find no fucks to give.
Now that I write it here, maybe I don’t appreciate this “pray for…” bullshit.
If good vibes/prayers are all you can spare – – emotionally, financially, temporally, then sure. . .
but yeah, it’s mostly a cop out.
Remember, though – – he’s white, so it’s not terrorism.
I’ve thought about that LOTR comparison myself. The non-ending was certainly one of the things that bothered me about Hyperion. And, it didn’t for LOTR. I think the difference might be that I knew it was coming in LOTR and it caught me by surprise in Hyperion. Also, in LOTR it seemed to come to a natural break, whereas Hyperion seemed unnatural (makes sense now the I find it was a stupid publisher decision [like breaking up Freebird on the Synyrd Greatest Hits album) and not the author’s). I should probably give it another try. Soon as I’m done re-listening to the Dart Tower Series.
Morning Pan
We have a bit of a blizzard going on here. The wind is crazy noisy and we are expecting 10 cm (4″) of snow. Still, better than south of here where they are suppose to get up to 20cm of snow.
Between Edmonton here in Alberta and Las Vegas in the States, life is a little crazy.
Crap joke for the day:
This businessman was walking down the sidewalk when a jet black van stopped by him. The guys pulled the man inside, stripped him of all his clothes till he was butt naked, threw him back outside, and then slammed the door shut taking off.Five miles later the men look outside and see the businessman running right beside the van. The thought “oh well”. So they drove on for another five miles, and once again they saw the businessman running beside their van. So this time they pulled over, opened the door, and asked the man, “Hey, how can you run so fast?” He replied, “You would to if your dick was stuck in the door.
Looking outside, I am so glad I work from home
8 Episodes through S2 of Dare Devil and I don’t find it as bad as I had heard. The flaws that I find in it are the same ones I found in S1.
Just wait. Talk to me after it’s all done
I loved it, all of it. 🙂
As the news grabs our attention with BIG horrors, it’s easy to miss the less flashy horrors.
After dawdling and dithering and finally doing nothing, as of this morning, Congress let the nation’s Children’s Health Insurance Program expire. That was healthcare for about 9 million, low income, AMERICAN children.
The House of Representatives DID however, approve 10 BILLION dollars earlier in the week to start on prototypes for trump’s wall.
Oh it’s gonna get SO much worse before it gets better. Maybe my children’s children will be able to live in an actual country instead of something turning into the walled city from Land of the Dead
It’s that simple. Racism, mental illness, and religious-based hatred are devastating, murderous, oppressive, unchecked evils at work in the world – – absolutely – – but the primary motive of our “leaders” is suppression of the poor in order to further elevate the obscenely wealthy.
… and since I am being a downer I might as well add this one.
Earlier this week the trump Justice Department weighed in on a case (without being ask by the plaintiff or defendant) saying that employer totally had the right to fire people simply for being gay.
The case involved a guy who worked in a skydiving company and simply advised a female customer concerned about the close physical contact necessary to participate in that sport that he was “100 percent gay,” and that she had nothing to worry about. Her boyfriend then apparently reported that to Zarda’s employer, who promptly fired him.
A lawyer for the US Justice Department weighed in, explaining that, under federal law, employers were absolutely free “to regulate employees’ off-the-job sexual behavior”.
Gay? Fired. Living with someone but not married? Fired. Married and having kids with someone of a different race/religion? Clearly you must be having sex. BOOM! Your fired.
“this” is trump’s Amerika.
Mmmm I’m gonna have to have links to dive more into this one.
I applaud your skepticism … or at least your cautious disbelief. If everybody checked links before responding to horrible things the read “on the net” the world would be a much better place.
… and apparently multiple links will put me in posting murgatory.
Freeeeeeeeeeeee
The cat is making it very hard to get any work done today.
Fair warning, episode two will be coming at you in about two hours
JW: E3 of Discovery
Enjoyed it even if the biological warp drive is up there with midclorians in the scifi bullshit hall of infamy.
Oh and if I ruled the world, William Sadler would be in discovery as a time hopping Section 31 operative.
So, the horror that happened last night in Vegas has made me ill this morning. That festival where the shooting occurred is a festival I would have attended; in fact, I tried several times to win tickets to it over the past few weeks.
Seriously, shooting people at a concert- just sick I’m glad the a-hole is dead. I hope authorities find some answers when they search his home.
Sadly, once again I fear we will not be looking for the right answers.
Yesterday, the average person could have mentioned in public that they owned an an assault rifle and it would have received little attention. On the other hand if they mentioned they were seeing a mental health professional or a counselor because things had been kind of tough lately and they felt like they just needed someone to talk to, they likely would be shunned.
Until we make “going to see my counselor” as socially acceptable as “going to see my physical therapist” (and financially accessible to everyone – ESPECIALLY those down on their luck) … these horrors will continue to a regular occurrence.
🙁

It looks like it is so long Tom Petty, just yesterday I was trying to perfect my guitar chords for “Free Fallin”.
Not yet! I hear he is still on the ventilator…. people can survive a cardiac arrest with hypothermia.
Did you get this confirmed?
Yep, confirmed. and it looks like it was reported up stream a little earlier.
There are some new reports that it is unconfirmed, I thought CBS would have the real news. But it doesn’t sound like he’ll come out of it if he survives.
Other groups try with their own fake ghosts

And that’s enough of that nonsense
The news is official now. RIP Tom Petty.
Awww. That’s too bad
I was in a garage band as a teenager where the drummer and bassist were new to their instruments and never practiced. Suffice it to say, we were terrible. But we had a decent keyboard guy, and the one song we could do marginally well was “You Got Lucky.” Thanks for that, Mr. Petty.
With this walking stick I suspect I’m going to start getting “tell us about the war grandpa” comments from uncouth younguns.
Now’s the time to learn some kind of stick-wielding martial art.
!!!!
And I’m hearing about shooting victims opening GoFundMe pages to pay for their medical bills.
I just fucking can’t process how this is OK.
The Go Fund Me Pages?
Or the shooting?
Morning Pan
Yup, that’s what it is all right.
Poor hubby. I guess a semi flipped on the highway to work so it took three times longer than normal to get to work.
Correct that. It took him two hours to do a trip that normally takes 25 minutes.
He’s not a happy hubby
Not on topic … but are your wild fires still burning up there? I was wondering if the change in weather has helped.
The short answer is yes to both your questions.
JW: The Gifted Episode 1
First episode left me feeling meh! Even with the delightful Amy Acker playing the concerned Mom.
Just a feeling of tiredness at the same old mutant tropes being trotted our all over again.
Oh and bloody teenagers, fuck that shit.
Between the Inhumans, Heroes, the 100 and now the Gifted, I think the studios need to give it a rest.
Oh and a shoutout to TEB, the hunter killer robots look like spiders.
But we still have Runaways coming out next month.
What we really need is a show about a scrappy, basically decent white teen-ish man who’s freaked out by their newfound super powers, who’s rejected by their misunderstanding parents, and is sent to an academy for special kids, where they meet a hot girl, a funny black kid, and a crazy kid – – all with super powers – – who band together when they realize that the academy doesn’t have their best interest at hear. The evil old white guy in the suit wants to use their powers as weapons – – but they realize that together, they can use their powers for good!
I don’t even watch all of the shows, and I’m feeling the New Mutants fatigue. Which is funny, because they haven’t actually made the New Mutants show.
My short response: this is an A- high school paper for that hip English teacher who made you watch the film for class. She draws a clever parallel, but the lines don’t all connect. The author is cherry-picking elements and intentionally omitting others to make her point work.
This report reads a lot like “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”
Agreed with Jack.
I will say that pieces like this are important though, as they remind us that, No, in fact not “anybody” could be a writer.
Interesting. I can’t remember the names of most of the games I played on my C64. I know quite a few were cartridge based and quite a few were 5 1/4″ floppy based from these guys:
I don’t even know why I’m posting this here. It’s infuriating. Gah.
I will do my part by not clicking the link.
Well, that’s even worse than I was expecting. I’ve just come across comments on Reddit and Facebook with people claiming either that the shooter didn’t act alone, or that he wasn’t even the shooter, but that the ISIS agents who did do it left his body in the room to cover their tracks….while also claiming responsibility?
People suck.

One MUST keep in mind the very REAL possibility that all of these have their roots in posts started in Russia and were specifically meant to divide us and spread chaos. Sadly, this is proving spectacularly easy for them.
They did it with the kneeling thing a few weekends ago and all but took control of the “News Cycle” here in the U.S. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/senator-russian-trolls-nfl-debate-sow-discord-50135890
“”They were taking both sides of the argument this past weekend, and pushing them out from their troll farms as much as they could to try to just raise the noise level in America…”
There is no reason to believe they wouldn’t take advantage of this tragedy to do the same exact thing. 🙁
Today is all about web work followed by cleaning the washrooms.
Well I enjoyed Hyperion so much I purchased extra audible credits so I could get The Fall of Hyperion.
Had you finished the 2 books when you first read Hyperion? And have you read The Fall of before? You know that’s a 2-book cycle too? I think the other book is The Rise of Endymion. I suppose I could take the 3 seconds to google it…
I skimmed The Fall of Hyperion when I tried reading it in the dead tree version.
I know about the further sequels, skinned them as well
-nn +mm
Not – nn and +mm, but +pp?
That as well I skipped a lot of pages.
Our new website is going up next week. Then begins the public testing to make sure all the links are indeed ok.
20 minute video, but fascinating. Of course, when you step outside of pop music and really explore, you can still find stuff of the quality and calibre he’s talking about.
Yeah the Powerman and Iron Fist comics were kind of Marvel royalty in the 70s and 80s. This one was beyond obvious. Just surprised it’s only for a few episodes
CP: Honey Creeper — Nyx
Ok, does anybody on here have a US audible account and own books 3 and 4 of the Hyperion series?
Thanks for posting this link, Cynful! Of course I have opinions….
-How is it that Link Wray isn’t already in? I’m thrilled for this one.
-It’s fantastic that Judas Priest is getting in, but it’s hard to induct them and overlook Iron Maiden. Bad move, HOF.
-Bon Jovi can suck it.
-Honestly, the Eurythmics are a 2-hit wonder. Induct Annie Lennox, sure. Not the Eurythmics.
Meh
I call shenanigans on this sort of voting. The demographic of those who will go on-line and vote once a day does not match the demographic of all those up for nomination. = skewed results
I had to wiki the last 5 or so on the list to get some idea of who they were.
What Bon Jovi fan is going to bother to do that?
It’s a travesty if you don’t know who Nina Simone is
You know, of all the science fiction future predictions for the Earth, I wouldn’t have put money on Ender’s Game being the most accurate.
The whole subplot (and characters for that matter) left out of the terrible movie adaptation with Ender’s brother and sister essentially taking over the world’s online discussion forums with their avatars and persuading the masses on various topics was, at least to me when I read them, one of the more far fetched elements of the book. Yet, here we are. I’m honestly surprised that at least the sci-fi aware media doesn’t draw more attention to this.
I had forgotten that.
I’d forgotten that aspect too.
Now that we know people’s fears are being artificially stoked, will people behave any differently?
Morning Pan
I took today off. That way I have a four day long weekend :cheerful:
Today my boss is checking out the new website for the first time. While I appreciate the confidence, you’re never sure if a person likes bright flashing primary colours or not :silly:
If you are in the mood for Halloween related music – I am very much enjoying the streaming music at deadair.co
Not the usual fare. I’ve heard stuff from The Residents, The Mystic Nights of Oingo Boingo … even the song by the girl in the radiator from “Eraser Head”. An entertainingly wide range of the odd and the obsolescent!
I’ll have to check it out. As it happens, I’m creating a metal halloween playlist to inflict on the Deadpan for those who are interested. I’d also be encouraged by anyone else’s efforts as well. 🙂
!!!!!!!
:metal:
Nice! You guys will have us all doing the Transylvania Twist.
Rhett, how do we pitch in?
Far be it from me to tell you HOW to pitch in. 🙂 For my part I plan on having a complete download ready. For everyone else, if you only had a list of songs accessible via Youtube, that would work also.
Can you provide an example or two?
I’m not sure what qualifies as Metal Halloween.
Isn’t all metal music a bunch of devil-worshipy halloween related stuff anyway?
*quietly backs out of room
Well, I don’t want to tip my hat just yet, but yes songs directly related to halloween or thematically related to monsters, ghosts, paranormal, existential angst. etc.
Off the top of me head, I can suggest:
Helloween – Halloween
Type O Negative – Black No. 1
GWAR – Horror of Yig
Overkill – Overkill II (The Nightmare Continues)
Metallica – The Thing That Should Not Be, Call of Ktulu, Dream No More
Possessed – The Eyes of Horror
Metal Church – Metal Church
Diamond Head – Am I Evil?
With this weeks guest star I really think Seth is a big name dropper.
Haven’t seen the newest episode yet, but the last episode had Liam Neeson
Just think Atomic Blonde….
And soo….. I guess it’s time for a little announcement.
I am officially making a return to Podcasting. It’s not out yet, but we have 5-6 episodes in some state of completion. The show is called “Ideas Start Here,” and it’s being made for my day job. (So no Dumbass Memories or 60 Lines segments. . . I probably won’t use the Samuel L. Jackson soundbyte very often.)
The focus will be on vaccines and vaccination technology, but there will also be a number of human stories too. I’ll post something here when it releases. I’ll probably make some kind of Facebook announcement too.
Cool!
Now where did I hear about this before?
True – – I did have a lunch meeting with a bunch of architects about my vaccination podcast.
So, if any of yous have a vaccination-related story to tell, then let me know, and I’d be glad to record a talk with you about it.
I had childhood vaccinations.
I didn’t develop any childhood diseases (except for chicken pox which I was not inoculated for).
I went on to have a productive life.
Not much to tell.
Hubby’s school just finished their vaccinations. Usually they don’t tell the parents ahead of time what day the vaccinations are going to happen. For the most part, he said it went very well.
Sounds like good stuff.

CP: Paranoid Android — Radiohead
Unborn chicken voices in your head?
Karma police, arrest this man! 😉
Oh..oh didn’t Jack tell you? Um..erm… I’m pretty sure he banned all Radiohead comments from the site.
#cough
What the hell am I doing here?
Awww, goodby Ralphie May. You were a funny white guy!
This story of Little Richard’s comments is bizarre and Little Richard seems to still be a very confused person.
Accusation doesn’t equal guilt, but in this case, the evidence presented is pretty damning. The world is full of creeps.
Right. And it’s that screen capped evidence I’m going by.
The Halloween Mix Tape is available through the usual channels now. 😉
I got a rock.
You do indeed.
heh
666!!!!!!!^
Just back from seeing Bladerunner 2049.
I’ll give it a “Wow”.
Non spoiler thoughts.
It’s a BIG picture and I find those rare any more.
Someone spent some time on the “art” of film craft. Great movie making.
It gives you LOTS of concepts to ponder.
and finally …
Something about getting to re-visit a world that was such a big influence in my life 30 years ago and see what it has become 30 years later … kind has that “my life has come full circle” feel to it.
Going tomorrow. Your response matches the initial reactions I’ve seen, but the mehs are starting to come out too. We’re going tomorrow, so I’ll know then.
Morning Pan
Gotta love holiday Mondays. I just wish they were followed up by holiday Tuesdays, then holiday Wednesdays…
Happy Asshole Proved To Europeans That the World Is Round Day!
“It’s round like my head. CRASH! It’s flat like your head.”
I guess it’s time to remind people that Europeans at the time of Columbus didn’t actually think the Earth was flat. They just didn’t know there was a big motherfucking continent in the way of a westwards sail to China.
You swore! I’m telling
I guess now I’ll go sit in the corner…. Of the Earth.
We aren’t celebrating there’s a big mf continent in the way day. We are celebrating give me more turkey and stuff me until I can’t move day.
So, a FB friend posted a video of a dipshit named Bill Whittle talking about gun violence. I tried twice to watch, to give it a fair shot, but both times stopped it in disgust. It’s possible the dipshit comes near a rational point later in the video, but I doubt it, and I have better ways to spend my time.
What disgusts me even more than the stupid arguments defending the deadly gun status quo is the illiterate snickering in my FB friend’s comments about “libtards” and how funny it is that said libtards are soooo pissed off by the speech.
Fuck, man. I’ve had dinner and good conversations about grills and craft beer with this person. WTF is wrong with people?
It’s simply the “I’m right, you’re wrong” craze has swept the nation
2016 – The Rise of the Bullies.
Since Bill gates and Steve Jobs arrived on the public’s notice in the 80’s … “brain” began to be celebrated over “brawn”. Smart nerdy guys began to be full of “win” as they were suddenly the ones living in the “nice” houses and the “nice” cars
… and Biff? Poor Biff was relegated to washing those cars.
Now … with trump as their rally point and Russian hackers controlling their press – they are embolden. Apparently they can bully and be a$$h0l#$ all they want and no one in authority is willing to call them so much as a “son-of-a-bitch” no mater how many protestors they may run over with their muscle car.
Can thoughtful intelligence win back control or has our brief try at letting “humanity” be our guide, become just a quant nostalgic notion?
I couldn’t say.
I know the feeling, unfortunately.
I am however, enjoying a bag of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish.
That does improve any situation.
Remember when we had efficiency and competence in the White House?
Pepperidge Farm remembers
Remember when the Avs were once a hockey team that won 8 straight division titles, a couple cups, were always in the cup conversation, and they had players like Chris Drury on the second line instead of…Nail…Yakupov?
Pepperidge Farm and I remember.
He’s a #1 draft pick. . . .
Can you dodge the draft if you go to Canada?
In Soviet America, draft dodges you! Oh wait, it’s Yakupov, not Yakov.
SO Blade Runner is, for the most part, a smashing critical success but utter box office failure.
Discuss.
Hmmm.
With out getting too spoilery –
The pace of the film is very much like the original in that it is very slow and deliberate. Not something that will play well with the crowd that prefers a frenetic pace and shots, lasting no more than 5 seconds each, cut to music.
In short this is NOT an action film with drama in it … it is a drama with action scenes in it.
I could mention another aspect that immediately struck me as “the average US movie go-er is not going to like this” … but it’s a little spoilery so I won’t be the first to bring it up.
In sum: this is the same populace that elected trump.
I just don’t get you guys on how you skipped on how dumb the plot is.
Once they have have Rachel’s bones they have her DNA, so the rest of the film is quest for something they already have.
Even if they have to have both parents DNA, they could just took a saliva sample from Deckard for goodness sake.
The only characters I actually cared about was the hologram and the dog.
Oh and I’m pretty clueless about a lot of things but even I can’t argue on how woman characters are treated in this picture.
I don’t think the movie itself is sexist. . . . Other than one guy who has the most power, it’s two women characters who control all of the events. But to continue this would involve many spoilers. I can create another thread, if people care to talk BR2049 elsewhere?
Just finished watching the latest episode of Star Trek. I am disliking this show more and more
Hmm, that’s interesting. My wife is really digging it. I’m not as enthusiastic about it yet, but it’s growing on me.
Without getting too spoilers, this whole, anything to win, attitude doesn’t work for me as a Star Trek show. Also, unless they plan to do some ret con, which is possible, the entire ship is doomed to failure
What annoyed me was what happened to the security chief.
What has always bothered me about Start Trek and now Star-Trek-Like shows is that what started as a means in the 1960s to discuss social issues of the day in a way that got “troubling” topics past sensors has continued in an era where it is no longer necessary. And as much as I can see what they are trying to get at, when you look at many of these episodes (e.g., the oh-so-popular third episode of the Orville) they come off (to me at least) as yet another example of how “humanity” is simply always the right answer and that humans are better than any alien race that isn’t human will ever be. Comes off as extremely arrogant on the part of the human race.
WHAT?!
I can’t hear you — I’ve just left the IMAX theatre, after seeing Blade Runner 2049.
Hollywood has my permission to start making movies like Bladerunner and Bladerunner 2049 again. However, with the bad numbers discussed above, I think we’re gonna get more and more short attention span fare.
Interesting you should mention the audio. I thought at the time, that they had the audio up about 2 notches too high in my theatre.
I wonder if this is a thing now.
I suspect I’m going to enjoy Thor: Ragnarok a whole lot more that I did Bladerunner 2049.
I saw the trailer for that and it did look like a lot of “fun”.
So yeh, if what your looking for in a film is an action picture that makes you laugh out loud … “Blade Runner 2049” – a thoughtful, suspenseful drama, film full of complex social questions – will NOT be your cup of tea.
Can you explain further on complex social questions because to
My untrained eye it looked as shallow any hollywood blockbuster..
Not here but I’d love to throw out some ideas in a less “spoilery” setting.
That being said, I do have to express some surprise at how selective you seem to be when it comes to being bothered by how “science” might or might not work in a fictitious cinematic universe.
I can forgive scientific errors but not when they are as dumb as the central conceit of 2049.
Is it an “uncanny valley” type thing?
Like if the universe’s science is sort of close to ours then it bugs you when it doesn’t match up?
Except that all the Marvel film’s seem to be set in “our” universe and their science is well past “dumb”.
Were you off put by the science in all the Star War films or any film that shows artificial gravity in space.
Not being combative here, just curious. What bugs you, bugs you and you don’t need a “reason” any more than you need one for why, chocolate might taste better to you instead of vanilla. I just wonder if you had ever pondered why “dumb science” works in some films for you but in others it’s a deal breaker?
I can’t really give you an answer JJ as sometimes it just rubs me up the wrong way.
Nope. I saw a headline indicating that even Rian Johnson doesn’t think people should watch the trailer.
Hubby says the thing beside Chewie looked like a mutated penguin
Hey Ditto! Did you get my email about your stuff? My email has been pretty flighty lately that I’m never sure who gets what. It’s also hit and miss as to whether or not I get a person’s email.
I did. Thanks for taking care of that for me. 🙂
My car has been recalled. Something to do with the block heater. I’m taking it in to get snow tires next week so they said the fix can be done at the same time.
Now I’m waiting for the reverse hack where women speak to their co-workers like they were speaking to Benjamin Cumberbatch..
Mr Cucumber doesn’t seem like the person that would kill you with the chair you are sitting on.
You mean, where they have no idea how to pronounce your name?
I already experience that. LOL
This article is awesome and almost spot on.
Really, it should be very simple for men in the workplace. Don’t flirt, don’t hit on, don’t give inappropriate gifts or compliments, don’t make sexual jokes, don’t make comments about private body parts, and so on… Don’t be a creep.
If you’re seriously crushing and you think you’re getting signals, then there are still ways to explore that without making anyone feel uncomfortable.
Hi, Deadpan! I want to get in on movie chat.
To shamelessly steal a bit from an episode of “Animaniacs:”
Do you like historical dramas?
Would you like to see a new movie starring Judi Dench?
Would you like to see Judi Dench giving a badass speech in a historical drama?
If you answered any or all of these questions “yes,” you should definitely go see “Victoria and Abdul.” I saw it with my parents and one of our local friends last night, and we all really enjoyed it.
My parents were just here for a 10-day visit, during which we went to two movies, two live theatrical performances, and a museum. The other movie was “Kingsmen: The Golden Circle,” which wasn’t really my cup of tea.
Very happy and excited to see the trailer for “The Last Jedi.” I will be seeing it on opening weekend, in costume. 🙂
“Victoria and Abdul.” colour me intrigued!
“The Last Jedi” trailer – saw it in the theater. Got me pumped to see the film!
Currently digging on a certain someone’s 2017 Halloween Mix. 🙂
He’s not Voldemort, you can say his name.
I’m not?
Glad you’re enjoying it JOe, although I’m a little surprised as it isn’t exactly “easy” listening. 🙂
The Bladerunner discussion page is up. Have at it.
Sweet!
I shall flex my thoughts a little later this afternoon.
One more non-spoiler BR2049 comment:
The movie is a work of art. So many of the individual shots would be worthy of framing and hanging on the wall. And the score is gorgeous.
Probably won’t get to see it until this weekend. 🙁
I can’t argue about the cinematography and music it’s fantastic.
And with the Score, I will add that the whole mix – to include sound effects and incidental sound “accents” – is masterful.
Happy Birthday Rhettro!!!
From the future…
The future caught up with me it seems. Thanks man.
I have to admitt that I am having trouble making Harvey Weinstein my poster-boy for feminist outrage here on the anniversary of the release of the recordings of our President bragging about how you can grab a woman by her genitals if you are a celebrity like himself.
Don’t get me wrong, Weinstein seems to have deservingly secured his own special place in hell … it’s just that almost half of this country could have cared less about this sort of thing when it was trump – and they went ahead and voted to give him the right to nominate a freaking Supreme Court Judge and make Jeff “KKK” Sessions our Attorney General.
So why are we as a country suddenly laser focused on a guy who (in an industry whose half century abuse of women on the casting couch is so well known that it’s become a TV script cliche), turns out to be a monster?
Just goes to show the different mindsets in America. In one community, you molest women, and you’re exiled. In another, you molest women and you’re given the nomination for president.
I say “meh” to this.
Just another writer trying to get “click throughs” by writing a controversial post about something during it’s “15 minutes” of public attention.
These folks are like those sucker fish who live on the side of sharks.
I wish there was some way to take back a page view.
Morning Pan
Bookkeeping, huzzah! :ermm:
BeeKeeping would be – “Buzz AH!”
😆
Hope you have a super duper amazing birthday, Rhett!
Rhett, I tried to post birthday wishes to your FB page but it wouldn’t let me.
“The message could not be posted to this timeline.”
🙁
I tried four times with different messages but it doesn’t like me.
Hmmm… that’s weird. Thanks for the wishes here, though!
As an FYI, I gave up on that CDN ghost stories show. It was pretty boring. Maybe, after lunch, I’ll do a movie PBP
Godammit Rhett! Happy b-day
Happy birthday!
So i’ve Downloaded a hack tool for the SNES mini clAssic, I can add 8 further games at a time, so far I’m thinking:
Flashback
Zombies Ate my Neighbours
Snow Bros
Super Mario All Stars
Any other suggestions?
How could I forget Lost Vikings!
Is F-Zero part of the set? The original Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter II games?
F-Zero and Street Fighter 2 are bundled with the mini console.
YES!!!!! Tho I’ve not read 1,3, or 4… the rest are absolute aces.
I’m unfamiliar with most of those, but can attest to Watchmen (we should do a Palooza…) and Saga, and I read some of the Hawkeye series they’re referencing. It’s good.
Interesting that they left out Dark Knight Returns, and didn’t even mention it.
I’ve not read 1 or 6. I’ve either sampled or read the others, and I think they are very good.
I also think the point of the list was to shed light on some comics that really are very different from what we consider the “mainstream”. I’d make a very different list, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any from this list.
Happy 23rd birthday to Rhett!
Ok Deadpan. I found the perfect movie

It’s like Everest. You gotta try it
His pot pipe smells better than the game
The game is addicting
Time passes
Thorin sits down and starts singing about gold.
😆
You approach the demon’s lair…
They see themselves as their characters
Is this real?
He draws his sword
The light show is more distracting than anything else
They wake up
Seriously, he has a lollipop stuck to his hair. I’ve never had that after a particularly long gaming session
They are having trouble remembering things
When did they make mood rings?
On to the next mission!
Rolling to fulfil his destiny
He’s really upset he mispronounced a word
He’s having trouble reading
Roll a four or higher
Once again, the lines between the game and reality blurr
A second body is found
Why do you always misread The sacred book?
Making fun of his stutter
His dice are missing
Their speech is turniing more formal
Sharing a dream of drink
The sweat is just pouring off him
Putting on fingerless gloves
Putting on his “armour”
What an old fashioned phone
His parents are going to be really confused
Look at me foul demon
Prepare for combat
The knight has fallen
Two golden knights remain
They all had to die
He is not my friend, he is a demon
He found a holy weapon
Yield
Where did you get that stick, er, I mean sword?
I am the chosen knight
Roll a five or higher
They advance to the next demon citadel
It is NOT a game!
This is just a fantasy game
Yes!
No!
Yes!
No!
Yes!
No!

As strange as it seems, I quite liked this
It was not a horror, fyi.
It was obviously an indie, sort of done from home, kind of movie, and the production values showed that. But still, or maybe because of that, I think it was worth watching
Rhett, you share a birthday with Mike J. Nelson! And Kris’s brother!
I think I remembered about Kris’s brother, but I didn’t know about Mike J. Nelson.
I recently finished NieR:Automata. It is a very good game, despite the fan service.
I think I’m past the legal limit.
Happy Birthday Rhett!
You’re finally legal age!
Since my old netbook is still working I decided to upgrade the ram to 8Gigs and buy a usb WiFi dongle to upgrade the WiFi.

The only Primus song I can name is “The Perfect Crime” and that’s only because it’s on the Bogus Journey soundtrack.
Tho this reply is perfect

The Perfect Crime was Faith no More. Tommy the Cat was the Primus song on that soundtrack. So you know the names of zero Primus songs.
So I’m not really an Eminem fan (“GASP” right?) and haven’t heard this “lyrical tirade” but having just watched the documentary on the Vietnam War and had a review of all the great songs written in protest of America’s bad behavior of that time … I shall give him a nod for at least making the effort.
Super skilled super clever lyricist who got some amazing backing music from Dr. Dre. Also a homophobe white trash douche bag.
But this should be a great slap in the face for many people. I recommend watching his rap.
Yeah his homophobia makes anything he does null and void. How can I trust a homophobe’s tirade against another homophobe?
It’s another Rhettro birthday!!
They just keep coming.

So this week was amusing to watch the meltdown over the US not qualifying for the 2018 Soccer World Cup and totally forgetting the US woman’s team is currently the best in the world.
trump has not tweeted about any of that so … FAKE NEWS!
It’s so unlike our culture to completely overlook the value and accomplishments of our women….
Nice!! Although I’ve read EoiandnernwenAN Colfer’s HH book book, and was a little disappointed. Maybe it will be more fun translated to a radio episode.
Interesting article about preservation of early computer games in Japan:
The blue Smartie use to be my favourite (not the same as an M&M, I know). Then they changed the recipe to natural flavouring and, not only does the blue Smartie look paler, but it doesn’t taste the same either. *shakes head*
Don’t be schtoopid be a Smartie.

By this, I choose to believe that you have sealed these rooms off and removed all of the atmosphere from them.
Sounds good to me. Maybe they’ll stay cleaner longer

JFAFDA: Hammers on Bone – Cassandra Khaw. Really short, but pretty damn good. Like a darker, less silly Dresden Files, with some Lovecraft elements.
Now if you had looked at goodreads you would have known I read it months ago :-p
The sequel ‘A Song for Quiet’ is worth checking out.
Other good novellas by different authors:
All systems Red by Martha Wells
Passing Strange by Ellen Klages.
Nice — thanks for the recommendations! I definitely liked Hammers enough to be interested in Quiet.
In this same vein, I’m also interested in The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle.
A cracking scifi story commenting on radicalising of the young spoilt by the carbuncle of childish humour.

Re-watching Stranger Things.
One curious thing I noticed, the horseshoe on the Byer’s shed is mounted pointed down. It should point up for good luck.
We were able to catch Blade Runner 2049 this evening. Probably the last weekend it runs in the premium XD theater, since for a 7pm Friday showing, we probably had less than 20 people.
Still, we both quite enjoyed it. While not necessary, I do think having seen the three prequel mini-stories enhanced our appreciation.
Plus … your being people of refined culture and exceptional intellect didn’t hurt either!
🙂
Lovely chilly evening at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ. Nice views of the M-15 cluster and the Ring Nebula.
Over the weekend we watched a movie called The Black Room.
It was the most amazing terrible movie you can see
Do you know how many bare breasts there were? All of them! I can think of only one woman in the movie who didn’t bare their top half. And ther was even one fill frontal nudity.
Seriously, everybody needs to see this movie. But, this movie is not to be watched alone. It should be seen with a crowd. Maybe with popcorn to throw at the tv.
I’m kind of sorry I didn’t do a pbp. This was perfect material for it.
I could see the high school or early college me really liking a game like this. These days, I don’t have the mental fortitude to stay engaged for so long. That said, we’ve bought more board games over the last 2 years then the prior 27 years.
Hubby and I have looked at it but we both feel it’s probably not for us.
Looks like a commitment. All well and good, but probably not for me.
I’d say stretch it out over a few days, but then there’d be the daily random factor of cats disrupting the board.
Morning Pan
Another lonely night. 🙁
Today we get to vote for our mayor. While I’ve tried to do my homework, We haven’t lived in Airdrie long enough to really know the issues and the players surrounding them.
Hubby and I are scratching our heads at the silliness of our home. We have three bedrooms. Through a series of events, we have a spare tv, so we thought we’d put it in the guest bedroom. It turns out, that room is the only one that doesn’t have a cable connector. Hubby and I can’t figure it out. The master bedroom has a wall connector.
The smallest bedroom in the house had a cable connector. But not room in between. No tv for our guests.
Looking outside, it’s a pretty high ponytail index today.
Ha! Turned on the news. The weatherman said the ponytail index is at a seven. I knew it. It’s pretty windy outside
I don’t know all of these fancy meteorological terms.
A ponytail index is basically, how much wind is there to mess up you hair. The higher the index the more you should put your tail in a ponytail to keep it from getting wind blown
… and here I was thinking pretty Windy was a neighbor with a ponytail.
Ya know, I never saw the 2nd one, which I’m told is the better of the 2.
Not better….but def an equal. See it!
They found James Ambrose dead in his cell,
A gaping gash in his arm had drained him down to hell.
No one knew for sure if Ambrose was his name.
They called him Yankee Sullivan in early days of fame.
He’d known the game of fisticuffs had always treated him right
But no one knew the men who came and took his life that night
Les Claypool will probably never be fully appreciated until he’s gone.
A midget walks into the doctors and says, “Doc, I’ve got these itchy balls and I can’t do anything to stop ’em itching”.The Doc says, “I can see the problem and I’ll fix it for ya”So the Doc pulls out a pair of scissors and tells the Midget to close his
eyes. The midget hears snip, snip snip noises for about 5 minutes. The doc finishes and says, “How’s that?”The midget says, ” brilliant, what did you do?”The Doc says, “I trimmed back your high boots”
I’ll get you Tyrion’s coat.
Sitting at the service Dept. Waiting as they put snow tires on hubby’s car.
Social Engineering and it’s place in public service.
The street I live on (about a mile long) hasn’t been repaved since construction (nearly 2 decades ago) and had developed several potholes near the edges. While my neighbors are pretty good folks, they are all pretty much followers. While they might talk among themselves about the road damage, none would actually call and complain about it. Only trouble makers complain. Of course my experience with calling the county is, one guy calling and asking for services pretty much gets ignored.
So the situation called for some social engineering.
I bought a can of florescent orange “marking” spray paint. Went out one night and painted an out-line around the biggest hole and added a few contour lines inside.
I few days later I overheard a neighbor say, “I saw some paint on the street. I think they might be getting ready to finally fix that hole.”
A week later I went out at night, re-marked THAT hole with extra bold markings and then marked all the other trouble spots.
Now the neighbors were excited. Looked like we might even be seeing the street repaved!
I waited. Time passed.
Then, as nothing happened for another two weeks, the villagers grew cranky and apparently started calling the street department to see when “the work” would be completed. Seems that they were all willing to suffer in silence until their expectations had been raised. Give them hope and then let it seem to slip away and they were moved into action.
All the holes were repaired yesterday.
Bravo!
You should run for office!
A nightmare.
So much easier to get things done from outside.
Just look at all that Russia has achieved … inside the US.
I think someone is trying to get ahead of the technology. Someday when power supplies with enough energy to actually charge a car could be small and light enough to transport by drone, they want to already own the rights to doing so.
Except … if power supplies get THAT small and lightweight … wouldn’t your vehicle just carry a months supply of them?
That’s what I was thinking. Thinking of all the energy to fly a battery over an electric car with a charge great enough to charge it, wouldn’t that mean that the battery tech had advanced enough to make the inflight charging obsolete?
Hubby’s car has winter tires and has been serviced. Tomorrow we do my car.
There’s apparently an online betting site where you can wager against certain outcomes in The Last Jedi. For example: one of the bets you can make is whether Jar Jar Binks will turn out to be Emperor Snokes.
You can also bet on whether or not Luke survives, whether or not Rey turns out to be Palpatine’s daughter, and so on.
spoilers?!
Can you bet on whether Luke was actually a Replicant?
What a sweet Google Doodle today, celebrating Selena! I dug it.
I don’t know if Bunny or anyone else on here knows Jay Langejans, but I just got the FB notification that says “Jay Langejans is near the wildfire in Airdrie, Alberta and is marked safe.” As soon as I saw that, I came over here to find out if Bunny is safe, too.
Hey Amy
The fire was between Airdrie and Calgary. Airdrie was used as the evacuation centre as it is closer to Balzac than Calgary. It didn’t actually make it as far as Airdrie so we are all good.
Hubby passed the fire as he was coming home. He saw a house that was totally engulfed in flame and the grass fire raging. We had very high winds yesterday (some gusts going over 100km) so that didn’t help.
Thanks for thinking of us.
I am glad your home is safe, Bunny!
Wow!
You guys stay alert and safe.
Does the school system have “fire days” built into the calendar?
My car now is in the shop getting winter tires and having the block heater worked on. I decided to come home and work, like a good little girl, instead of staying there an reading while I wait.
The Marilyn Manson interview on WTF is perhaps the drunkest, rambliest, saddest, most awkward wanna be frat boy interview I’ve ever heard. Blech.
Never had much use for that guy, although I’d have never considered him wannabe fratboy material. . . Pretty sad if that’s the next step in his evolution.
By “Wannabe fratboy” I mean just the way he talks about the women he’s done, how much he loves women, how he got into rock for women… and just general fratty booze talk. That’s how he came off to me anyway
A few good songs, but a remarkably messed up individual.
I always had him pegged as a being an experimental, mass marketed “product”, created by Trent Reznor.

Now I need to figure out why August sales don’t reconcile and start on September’s.
Just realized I hadn’t said this out loud: Rhett, thanks for the Halloween mix! Very nicely done! I especially like the CD inlay.
Glad you like it. 🙂 I was trying to build through many takes on Halloween, from scary, creepy, corny, funny and everything inbetween.
A BIG thank you for not including Ministry’s ‘Everyday Halloween”. While I love the song it’s simply too… obvious?
Well, I did have one “obvious” song on there, but I did resist the urge to include Type-O’s “Halloween in Heaven”.
I was playing it in my car the other morning and in reference to one of the songs (chorus contains lyric ‘I want to take you on a picnic but you’d explode’) … my passenger remarked, “Is that from ‘Twilight – The Musical’ “?
Made me laugh.
A bunch of years ago I made an edited version of “Black No. 1” so I could play it around the kids at Halloween, without the F-bomb.
Like friending the dead?
Ha!
I think I will make some cinnamon buns this morning
So the investigation is over. Authorities have determined the fire we spoke of the other day was caused by someone throwing a lit cigarette out their car window
Basically, people have lost their homes because of stupidity. *sigh*

Ok after seeing an ad for a Bose portable speaker with it stuck on a bicycle, I’m have to state:
I don’t get it. I can see using it if you are having a garden party, or want a speaker you easily move around the house without wires.
But why would you put it on a bike to blare music out as you passed them by when you could just use earphones…
Riding a bike with headphones is pretty dangerously dumb. I use some bike mounted speakers when I ride to so I can listen to some energizing tunes and still be able to hear cars coming up from behind me.
I get that, maybe it’s living in a small country, but being a noise polluter is going to lead to a confrontation.
I spent all of my teen-aged years riding my bicycle everywhere in Anaheim and Buena Park – with my headphones and cassette player blasting. I could always hear the cars around me. Always.
I used to wrestle with this issue when I road my motorcycle.
On the one hand – How glorious to be surrounded by your favorite soundtrack as you wind your way through the country side!
On the other – Did I really want to NOT be 100% focused on the things around that try to kill a cyclist.
Well, they’re British bed bugs, so they’re more polite.

Wow, Patton Oswalt: Annihilation. I only intended to watch the first 10 minutes, ended up watching the full hour.
Saw that in the “now trending” list on Netflix and wondered about it. I like him but have never seen his stand up.
Gut wrenching? Haven’t watched yet. His standup is usually terrific
It is funny and gut-wrenching.
Crap joke for the day:
Recently a teacher, a garbage collector, and a lawyer wound up together at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter informed them that in order to get into Heaven, they would each have to answer one question. St. Peter addressed the teacher and asked, “What was the name of the ship that crashed into the iceberg? They just made a movie about it.” The teacher answered quickly, “That would be the Titanic.” St. Peter let him through the gate. St. Peter turned to the garbage man and, figuring Heaven didn’t REALLY need all the odours that this guy would bring with him, decided to make the question a little harder: “How many people died on the ship?” Fortunately for him, the trash man had just seen the movie and answered, “about 1,500.” “That’s right! You may enter.” St. Peter then turned to the lawyer. “Name them.”
I’ll get your powdered wig.

Got sniffed by a stranger tonight!
Only at Halloween scare parks…
Apparently you guys were even more freaked out by it than I was. . .
Better than being snuffed by a stranger.
I’m just glad you showered. Probably made it a better experience for you both.
It would have served him right if I hadn’t.
I was viewing a marching band competition that ended at midnight. Then I had a 2 hour drive home. Today is very unproductive.
Surprise! Geostorm is a terrible movie.
#notreallyasurprise
I thought we had entered terrible movie season. It is known.
I rank Geostorm somewhere between Armageddon annnnnnnnnnnnnd Sharknado(es).
Is it bad that I think it was just as awful as Alien: Covenant?
I watched the Dark Tower film.
Not terrible, not good either.
So odd. I just watched the Dark Tower film yesterday. One of my big thoughts was that I know better understood your perspective on the original Blade Runner. Every single character in the Dark Tower film was written horribly. Roland is consumed by revenge rather than the Tower, Jake has a firefighter dad that he loves and misses, Sayre is in a motorcycle gang, and Walter never laughs (and is just plain wrong). Not to mention that technology plays WAY too large a role. I honestly struggled to make it all the way through it. The only Stephen King movie I’ve seen stray this far from the source material was Lawnmower Man.

Now it’s caged
She gave the cat to hippy boyfriend

Wait, why is good sister staying in Beth’s room? She has her own home
Some of the pics in the “case study” can be found on the net if you google “old hag syndrome”

Back for round two
Looking up stunned doctor

Hippy boyfriend has a wet dream
And loses his tongue
I still don’t understand why she’s back at her parents
Fringe science
Coffee time
She doesn’t trust hubby with his secretary
Shared night paralysis
You’re imagination is going nuts
Doctor Sykes is mad
Stop visiting Beth’s hippy boyfriend
Yes, lets sleep on it
Huh?
Time to drink wine from a bottle
Ok, lets see if I get this straight. Her sister dies, she moves back home to stay in her sister’s room, doesn’t seem to work anymore, hangs with sister’s hippy boyfriend, and has the same dreams as sister
Sure
Watching hubby get it on
Hubby doesn’t see
Linda dies
You can’t blame imaginary evil for life’s misfortunes
Why do people always knock instead of using the doorbell?
Stunned doctors house is full of strange stuff
Once you believe in the hag, she comes to you more often
Don’t stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
OMG she used the doorbell
Yes, she has a business card. You can’t get those unless you’re legit
Bright lights
Pang is crazy
Yeah, tell the man it’s real that will make it stop
The man that never sleeps
Yeah, fall asleep while driving. That will end well
The viscous cycle
Adrenaline will wake you as you sleep
How will you know?
I am fine, says the stunned doctor
Contact
Here she comes
Her eyes are closed
Of course
Did it work?
Time to try it on him
Nope, now the parents
Good parking job
Mom’s gone
Time to feed the cat
Come talk to me while I’m in the shower
Hippy boyfriend is falling asleep
The painting is bleeding
Bare bottom
Cpr
So much for Evan
Oh wait. Maybe not
You still have to face it
Time to face her fear
Blah, blah, blah. Stunned doctor is talking too much
Really? He let her give herself the shot? What kind of doctor is he?
She went to bed with her shoes on
This movie is actually making me tired
Come on Kate
Oh oh, his machine is broken
Time to join her
Wow. Evil hag is easily distracted
Where is Hassan?
His lights must be out, that’s why she’s using a candle
Trying to wake herself up
Fighting with her dead sister
She killed her sister
The tables have turned
She must have choked a squid
Wait, she just leaves?
She will carry on stunned doctor’s work
Ha! Take that sensible doctor
There you go.
Meh. It was a movie

How have I not heard of this series?
I’ve been meaning to re-read this series for a while, so this seems like a good excuse to me. I remember enjoying it quite a bit, especially since it is a different cyberpunk atmosphere than the typical classics, since the main characters are Muslim.
finished watching The OA on Netflix yesterday. I really liked that show
It’s weirdness makes it a bit of a marmite show.
Love it or hate it seems to be the main reaction.
I’m on the “love” side of it. However, it took until the end before I decided that.
Would that make The Wiggles a vegemite show?

Oh and the journalist John Pilger hits the nail on the head:
http://johnpilger.com/articles/the-killing-of-history
I haven’t watched the Ken Burns Vietnam series. He’s historically been pretty good about calling out uncomfortable truths. Disappointing if that article is true.
The article’s other points merit applause.
i cant use what i cant abuse

Suicidal Tendencies fans?
Just offer them a Pepsi.

Crap joke for the day;
It was the funeral of a Meter Maid.

Threes women nurses visit the morgue and see a dead man with a hard on.
First nurses says it’s too good not to use, climbs on and does the business.
Second nurse does the same. Third nurse initially refuses as she is on her period, but is persuaded to have a go.
The man suddenly sits up, the nurses apologise as they thought he was dead.
The replies that he was, but after two jump starts and a blood transfusion he feels as good as new..

Morning Pan
putting numbers in little boxes today
Morning Deadpan
Lunch with my Boo today.
Just joined steam because I want to play Cuphead when it comes to PC:
https://www.geeksaresexy.net/2017/09/26/deal-pre-order-cuphead/

Don’t want this to fly under the radar… Roy Moore wins the Alabama Senate Primary. YIKES
THIS GUY SOUNDS SCARY.
He’s a scary guy and Alabama is a scary state.
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/27/roy-moore-outrageous-things-he-said-243207
Apparently his repub opponent, Luther Strange is as evil as his name suggests – – but still not as bad as this guy.

Sad news. Here’s hoping she can beat it.
Finally watched the Annihilation teaser that TRA posted above. https://www.geeksaresexy.net/2017/09/27/annihilation-extremely-creepy-sci-fi-thriller-featuring-nathalie-portman/

Poor Creature.
Goddammit I miss Mockingbird.

Snow Crash! Snow Crash! Snow Crash! Snow Crash! Snow Crash!

Was it better than this??

Bleurgh!
So BR 2049 is looking interesting:

Higher praise than I expected. I also enjoyed the 2022 anime prequel.

Hmmm:

JW: Gerald’s Game on Netflix
Slightly.
This is bad, the fact that mass killings in the US has become almost the norm is also bad:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-41466116
Sadly – there seems to be multiple, BIG news outlet confirmation of this.

Philip proves we know nothing, John Snow
On to poltergeist story

The house is performing irregularly

The gas company checks things out
Maybe the clay soil is responsible
Rumours circulate
The ghost leaves
The soul versus the mind

Another take in Bladerunner:
https://www.tor.com/2017/10/03/this-future-looks-familiar-watching-blade-runner-in-2017/
My short response: this is an A- high school paper for that hip English teacher who made you watch the film for class.

Wow! Although it will only really accurately emulate the C64 if the games take 25 minutes to load.
Interesting. I can’t remember the names of most of the games I played on my C64. I know quite a few were cartridge based and quite a few were 5 1/4″ floppy based from these guys:

Another lonely evening
Today is all about web work followed by cleaning the washrooms.
Well I enjoyed Hyperion so much I purchased extra audible credits so I could get The Fall of Hyperion.
Had you finished the 2 books when you first read Hyperion? And have you read The Fall of before? You know that’s a 2-book cycle too? I think the other book is The Rise of Endymion. I suppose I could take the 3 seconds to google it…
I skimmed The Fall of Hyperion when I tried reading it in the dead tree version.
I know about the further sequels, skinned them as well

I guess Alice Cooper’s “This House is Haunted” is to … not metal?

What might have been:
https://www.windowscentral.com/microsofts-canceled-all-screen-lumia-handset?utm_source=wpc&utm_medium=twitter

I’m not?
Glad you’re enjoying it JOe, although I’m a little surprised as it isn’t exactly “easy” listening. 🙂
Ha.

OK, maybe I’ll make that Bladerunner 2049er page.

I tried four times with different messages but it doesn’t like me.

Happy birthday!
So i’ve Downloaded a hack tool for the SNES mini clAssic, I can add 8 further games at a time, so far I’m thinking:

Snow Bros
Super Mario All Stars
Any other suggestions?
How could I forget Lost Vikings!
Is F-Zero part of the set? The original Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter II games?
F-Zero and Street Fighter 2 are bundled with the mini console.
Not a bad list. 🙂
https://www.thoughtco.com/best-comic-books-for-new-readers-3897594
Today we are watching 13Demons
The Netflix write up: A group of gamers discover a banned board game with a dark history to which a number of mysterious deaths have been attributed in the past
It’s like this movie was created to receive the TEB PBP treatment.
Sounds like a horror version of Jumanji
At one hour, thirteen minutes, today’s torture will be brief
Pressing play now…
A disclaimer on how the views expressed are not necessarily that of the production company
How odd
A police interrogation
He has a strange name
What is your mission?
They mist complete their quest
A sacred weapon is a … pipe?
Hours earlier
Gamers do not live in squalor
He has the game
The box is full of dust
It smells old
The piece stood by itself
Wanna play?
He’s having trouble reading the rule book
It’s like Everest. You gotta try it
His pot pipe smells better than the game
The game is addicting
Time passes
Thorin sits down and starts singing about gold.
😆
You approach the demon’s lair…
They see themselves as their characters
Is this real?
He draws his sword
The light show is more distracting than anything else
They wake up
Seriously, he has a lollipop stuck to his hair. I’ve never had that after a particularly long gaming session
They are having trouble remembering things
When did they make mood rings?
On to the next mission!
Rolling to fulfil his destiny
He’s really upset he mispronounced a word
He’s having trouble reading
Roll a four or higher
Once again, the lines between the game and reality blurr
A second body is found
Why do you always misread The sacred book?
Making fun of his stutter
His dice are missing
Their speech is turniing more formal
Sharing a dream of drink
The sweat is just pouring off him
Putting on fingerless gloves
Putting on his “armour”
What an old fashioned phone
His parents are going to be really confused
Look at me foul demon
Prepare for combat
The knight has fallen
Two golden knights remain
They all had to die
He is not my friend, he is a demon
He found a holy weapon
Yield
Where did you get that stick, er, I mean sword?
I am the chosen knight
Roll a five or higher
They advance to the next demon citadel
It is NOT a game!
This is just a fantasy game
Yes!
No!
Yes!
No!
Yes!
No!
…
Over
As strange as it seems, I quite liked this
It was not a horror, fyi.

“Eminem has released a lyrical tirade against Donald Trump, and called on any of his fans who support the president to choose a side.”

Bravo!
You should run for office!

qz.com/1103927/amazon-amzn-wins-patent-for-drones-to-wirelessly-charge-electric-cars-while-youre-driving/

Radio Raheem for 2017.

Shockkkkkkkk

This is why we get tyranny!
I initially read it as “This is why we get Tranny!”
This is why we get Trainy.
Edmonton is about a three hour drive from here. I never realized Edmonton was so pretentious.

I did a search for surplus Halloween decorations and for some reason this popped up.

Is Tampa Bay known for instilling terror?
Well, it is in Florida. . .
My best guess is that something in the system linked hockey mask (horror movie) to hockey mask (but this thing).
Your government hates you you hate your government your government hates you.
lather, rinse, repeat
KMFDM lyrics. Everyone should listen to that new album.
It’s the political album we needed by the band we least expected…. but we should have been smarter than that.
Truly, KMFDM is stronger than ever. Ever before.

DILLY DILLY

“The Babysitter” on Netflix is a fun campy horror film; certainly better than I thought it would be.
Over the last few days been binge listening to the ‘Welcome to Night Vale’ podcast.
Deliciously weird.
Charlie the (former Beer) Guy and family are huge fans that one. They traveled to some kind of convention in Austin.
I’m singing ‘let it go’ as I post this:
