  1. Ok, is there anyway to have a reload page button at the bottom of the comments page (near the publish button)?

That would cut a lot of scrolling on mobile safari.

  2. Two trays of cookies in the oven. I’m off to the toy store to consult with Santa about a toy that Target.com neglected to ship. Of course it’s the ONE thing my son wants.

I was on the phone with the clerk at Fry’s who was going over the toys that are similar and in stock and my daughter asks, “Are you talking to Santa?”

    Of course… I am! 🙂

🙁 I’m getting the same thing. MEH!
I know several of you had iTunes/Deadpan issues a few weeks ago … is this the same failure message you got?

I’m getting the same message. iTunes’ Deadpan aggression has escalated from not recognizing new shows to not recognizing the Deadpan at all. Fuckashitpiss!

  5. Stupid questions:

    1. Is there a list somewhere of available emoticons?
    2. If WordPress is a :fucktardbot: why do we use it?

    Suggestion:

The ability to bookmark individual comments was already mentioned as a way to know where you left off reading comments. It would also be a good way for people like me that can’t always follow links at work to mark the comments I want to follow up with later in the day.

  6. Morning Pan!

Only here for a moment. Hockey game was ok, Flames lost in a shoot out. i guess I can’t come down on them too bad since they are the only Canadian team in a play off position right now.

Manually downloading DP as i-tunes is being a dweeb.

Hope everybody has a great Christmas!

    Bunny out!

  7. Not sure why we’re still getting iTunes errors. Time to get the FPM support gang onboard.

I hope everyone enjoys the episode, and I hope everyone is having a Merry Xmas. I still have wrapping, UPS Customer Center, and a grocery run in the next few hours.

  8. Man, these holiday weekends really mess up my sense of time. I was still posting to last week’s show.

Of course, not getting the new one in the feed probably contributed to my temporal confusion…yeah, that’s my story.

As of 8:11p Central, still no worka on the Deadpan feed in Itunes.

And to all, a good night!

  9. Merry Christmas, :pan: !

Snow has been blown a second time, grr.

Preparing to go to Little Canada for Ham with my folks. Dont worry, it is 95% urban areas to get there, so roads should be good.

  10. Merry Xmascetera to all, and to all, a goodnight, mush.
(I never clicked “send” on this last night)

This iTunes problem is officially uncool. I think this is a pretty fun episode too.

Otherwise, I hope everyone is having a fun Xmas day.

  11. Merry Christmas everyone! The weather here sucks, but then again, I don’t have to go anywhere. I only have to keep warm.

Haven’t listened to the ep yet, but I’m sure it is awesome.

And thanks for all the hard work JfS!

  12. Damn damn damn….I’m trying REALLY HARD to get the date to link to the comment post number…but its in JS and PHP somewhere embedded in there…can’t figure it out. These are sophisticated comments apparently and in the old theme it was obvious….damn damn.

  13. LOL!!!
Jack works in audio bites, the way some artists work in oils or water colours.
If you haven’t listened yet, I recommend not doing it under the effect of hallucinogens.

    Merry Christmas to all …

  14. Actually, Joe, I’m pretty sure this latest :pan: was a hallucinogen.

Very nice show this week, Jack. Apparently Itunes went blind from the pure awesomeness.

  15. I want to see Sherlock Holmes! Good morning :pan: . Hope you are all having a great Saturday. I’m hanging with a house full of little people and Dan while my g/f prepares for her flight out to China tonight.

I can’t believe she’s leaving. Our daughters have played together for 6 years – they met when my daughter was 10 months old.

They are going on quite an adventure!

  16. Morning Pan

This year for Christmas I was given a head cold. I don’t remember asking for one but somebody obviously thought I needed one.

  17. DJ Bunny :

This year for Christmas I was given a head cold. I don’t remember asking for one but somebody obviously thought I needed one.

Someone obviously made the “Stocking Stuffer/Stuffy in stockings” mistake. Not uncomment this time of year. 😉

    Hope you’re feeling better soon!

  18. If you run into Piper or Caribous or any of the other Palins at hte gay bar, then please get pictures.

So wow, that Milquarius thing – talk about hallucinogens.

    Feel better, Bunny!

    :jack:

  19. The Milquarious thing was jaw-dropping.

JfS – Is there such a thing as a “gay douchy guy”? I’ve encountered flamers who were running at 12 (and you thought “11” was a lot!) but in my limited experience … can’t say I’ve met a gay douche-bag. Is it possible?

signed – Douchy bi-curious in the interwebs.

  20. JB, I sold a air compressor today and the guy buying it saw my snowblower got the comment: “Damn thats huge must be nice” it’s the biggest on the block I got it from my father-in-law… what can I say

  21. hay :pan:
anyone else take there Christmas decorations down the day after Christmas? We do. Today I even got the decorations off the roof. glad it has a low pitch and only 2″ of snow.

  22. Nope, I’m usually the last one in my neighborhood to take mine down. I generally keep them up until the Christmas season is actually finished.

To each, their own, though. I don’t think I could muster the will to make that effort this quickly anyway.

  23. I prefer to follow family tradition and leave them up till after the new year, but that may just because I am efficiently lazy. So I’ll probably start de-corating the tree tomorrow and hope to be done before Jade decides the tree has been up for too long already.

  24. Yep. Procrastinator here. I figure I “legally” got until New Year’s Day … and if the weather is still really cold and there is even just the tiniest possibility of snow, I get a grace period.

  25. Things look mighty different ’round here!

New year, new Deadpan I guess! Very nice!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ours has been wonderful. Got Hughs mom and 1 of his sisters here now. We may not have any snow here but Hugh’s sister got delayed by the snow in Chicago. That was the closest we got to a white Christmas. 🙂 So his family is enjoying the warmer SF temps with the way Chicago has been lately.

Has anyone here seen Sherlock Holmes? We really want to see it! We have Hugh’s various siblings visiting in shifts over the next couple weeks. Once the endless parade of family we want to go see it.

So how do you get that avatar thingy?

  26. @reaper
We usually leave ours up until New Years Day, but this year we will have to take them down early because I do believe my hubby is going out of town for a spell before he starts his new job.

“for a spell” lol – I don’t think I’ve ever used that term before.

Anyway… because we have this new, enormous tree, he’ll have to help put that away and take all the inflatables down out of the yard before he goes since once he gets home he’ll be working again.

  27. Ever since I started my new job, 4 weeks ago, (has it been a month already?) it seems we haven’t gone out to eat at a restaurant as a family. I just realized that this morning. The closest we’ve come is pizza at home. So, when Dan and Fletcher wake up I’m going to propose brunch at Black Bear Diner.

I suppose it would help if I got dressed.

  28. k, made me a gravatar! Its from 1 of Hugh’s paintings 🙂 it ain’t showing up but the site says it takes 5-10 minutes so I shall be patient

So how do I use that ubër cute Deadpan icon?? So cute!!!! Its deadpan-errific
    Deadpantacular!! Deadpantastic!!

We are definitely going to take the time to see Sherlock Holmes. I always loved Sherlock Holmes mysteries when I was a wee girl. I haven’t read Holmes in years and years.

  29. And for the record, I’d really like to ask all the  people with whom I’m sharing air to please stop breathing in my vicinity. I feel my immunity defenses drooping.

I have no time to be ill!

That being said, I might just take a nap before heading out to work today.

Or at least a lie down and look at the ceiling for a few minutes type rest.

  30. And hey, thanks Cj for the Facebook heads-up. I guess it’s almost 3 weeks now since they posted on the Wall, but everyone should say something nice to Elizabeth and Claudine.
And thanks for forgiving my lies, Bunny

  31. and now I have the little pan icon :pan: that is cute!

ok. Enough of that. Been up late talking and talking with Hugh’s sister

    now nighty night pan! :kissing:

if I don’t see you again, happy new year. I have a great feeling about 2010 :cheerful:

I feel so high-tech with my fancy smileys. Is there a pervert smiley? Technically this could be it

    heh

  32. Good :mush: pan. The weather here was frightful, and I am sore all over from just cleaning off part of my driveway. Ugh. You think this white crap was concrete.

  33. My employer gives only 4th of July and Thanksgiving for regular holidays (we’d end up working the others for some emergency or other anyway) and then combines them all into a “Holiday Shutdown” that lasts from Christmas until New Years. I don’t go back to work until January 4th. As for the snow, I did spend some time this weekend lifting some white stuff off the ground. Fortunately for me, it was sea shells from Venice Beach, Florida.
Before anyone gets too jealous, this was our first Christmas away from my extended family and our New York friends, and the first Christmas where our son wasn’t able to come home on leave (he’s in the army). :cwy: So it was a bit depressing around here, despite the sun and sand.

  34. The company I work for is open 24/7 365 days a year. I will most definitely be working the holidays in the future.

They make up for it with the money, but I’m not sure just how worth it that will be yet.

I did make my sales quota again last night. Thanks goodness.

If anyone gets sick of my talking about work, let me know. It’s all kinda “new to me” even though I did do this for 20 years before I stopped to be a work at home mommy. I’m still adjusting.

  35. CJ – that end of telephone sales is a mystery to most of us. So you are enlightening us.

“Quota” seems a stressful thing to me. Do they keep looking over your shoulder to see how you are coming along?

  36. Got a whack of Amazon Gift cards for christmas, and spent said cards by 8am the 26th. Soon to be shipping are:

Watchmen Ultimate Cut Box Set – Includes the main title cut with Black Freighter content in appropriate spots, a digital copy of the theatrical cut, and the complete 325-min motion comic of the original text.

6 screen guards for this G1, the one on it is coming off in multiple places.

2x2000pt Nintendo poins cards, so I can get some WiiWare games

A GameCube memory card, because the Wii cannot do GameCube saves on its hardware, and I have never bought one, so I can save games from

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Chaos Bleeds for GameCube (used, obviously)

  37. The wife got a Wii for Christmas. I just spent the past hour+ reogranizing cables and connections to fit it into the entertainment console. Bowling here we come…. 🙂

  38. Well, I made my hubby love me and he now owes me lots of back rubs. We just got back from doing some Boxing week shopping. Originally we went out to get a new TV, which we did buy, but I also let him stop at the music store to see what kind of sales they had. After much puppy dog eyes I let him bring home a new toy.

He got this in white: http://www.deanguitars.com/dean_winter_07/razorback_db_enlarged.htm

I better get lots of back rubs for this :metal:

  39. I’m not sure how Boxing week sales work in the US. Here in Canada, basically the week between Christmas and New Years are major sales. I tend to compare it to your Black Friday but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I admit, we went a little crazy on sale shopping this year.

  40. We generally don’t go out right on Boxing Day, although I do know people who will start to line up hours before the stores open. I like to wait a couple of days. I figure, while I may not get the “door crashers” there are still plenty of items on sale and I don’t have to deal with the crowds. All the stores we went to were very quiet today and we had no problems getting a sales person to help us out. A much better way of doing it 😉

  41. CD: watching hubby put new strings on his new MASSIVELY size guitar. I didn’t realize it until he put it beside one of the others but this thing is almost twice the size. Do you think it’s compensating for something (it has to be the guitar because I know hubby isn’t compensating 😉 )

  42. justa J0e :
CJ – that end of telephone sales is a mystery to most of us. So you are enlightening us.
“Quota” seems a stressful thing to me. Do they keep looking over your shoulder to see how you are coming along?

They aren’t over our shoulder, but they record every call and review them with us to let us know what we are doing right and wrong and then coach us to do it right. It’s a little stressful, but I’m pretty good at it so far, so I don’t have a lot of stress. I’ve had WAY worse jobs in my life. At least this is fun and I get to talk to people… we all know how much I love to talk :cheerful:

  43. For those who don’t see my tweets – I am now the proud owner and wearer of a large and unattractive leg brace. No New Years Party dancing for me.

(I work til midnight on NYE anyway so it’s all good)

  44. That guitar is Very Metal, Bunny. **** I would love some face-melting recordings, if he’s ever willing to share. Or at least his report on how it sounds.
    Death to false :metal:

So uh, you’re saying he uses the extra-thick string gauge?

  45. The guitar is now half strung. I just don’t understand guitar people. As far as I was concerned there was nothing wrong with the strings it came with. I guess, if I played, I’d understand better.

  46. There, he is all strung out and now in tuning mode. I know strings are important. I once bought him the wrong kind of strings and was given the speech of what he actually uses. Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (can you see me rolling my eyes now?)

    Damn prima donna musicians :metal:

  47. So far he’s surprised at how well it’s staying in tune. For a cheaper guitar he says it’s keeping its tune better than the Gibson. However he does look a little silly. My hubby is a fairly small man so this massive guitar really overshadows him.

(as an aside, in answer to your question jack, the string guages are: 10, 13, ,17, 26, 36, 46. I have no idea what that means but he says that’s pretty straight forward)

  48. Those string gauges are standard, Bunny (I tend to put that size on my acoustic, which is a little less common, but which allows for more agile bending).

I was just following up your entendre about his whammy bar.

  49. Now hubby’s just being silly. Because it’s a Dimebag signature guitar, he’s trying to convince me he now needs to get all the albums. I’m somehow not convinced.

  50. Wow, you should see all the pictures he’s taking of his “three favourite guitars”. He’s calling them his glamor models (I’m rolling my eyes again. Boys and their toys)

  51. Can one of you Arizona folks explain why it costs 2-3x as much to rent a car in Phoenix as it does in Hawaii? I was gathering some intel for myself (being, as :jack: so properly put it, a deadzone between Christmas and New Year’s) checking prices for flights and cars. Having just recently started looking into such things for a possible summer trip to Hawaii, I had a feel for numbers. Sure enough, on Deadcon 2010, I can rent in Hawaii for less than half of what I can in Phoenix.

Naturally, this means that Deadcon should be moved to Hawaii 😆

  52. Hey folks, been a few weeks. Thought I’d stop in an say hi. Notice a few of you having the same bug with getting the latest episodes via itunes. In a way, glad it’s not me, in another way, ack, missed an episode or two I think.

    Oh and, droids are fun.

  53. Johnny Null’s Operations have returned. Glad to see you back – – sorry about the iTunes bug.

Ed, I had decent luck with rental cars when I moved back here. I can look up the info on the place I used, if you need it.

Or. . . . we can save you a few bucks on car rentals and move the whole thing to Hawaii.

  54. Well, for that weekend I was seeing base rates for basic cars on the order of $70/day with taxes/fees pushing it near to $100/day.

Quite proud of those vehicles, they are.

  55. I get home from work and nobody is around.

    @Jack Mangan
I read the story and yeah… what you said. You know how I feel about that.

    @Lejon (Some Guy from Chandler)
I’d rather spend any day with my kids, holiday or not, regardless of loss of pay. That’s just not the situation available to me at this time.

I’ve got a case of the gloomies at the moment and nobody around to cheer me up. I’ll hit the :pan: in the morning for some jolts of happy.

  56. Afternoon Pan, the rain has arrived to finish off the remaining ice. JB’s game purchase has reminded me I never finished the original Buffy game on the Xbox, might dig it out this weekend.

Okay I realise I maybe the only one that’s wants this, but if anybody else reads the DP comments on a iPhone/iPod Touch and gets annoyed with thumb scrolling all the way the the bottom to see new comments (cos you can only refresh a webpage in mobile Safari by going back to the top of the page), could you shout out to ask Jeremy if it’s possible to have a reload page option near the publish button?

  57. I’ve been friending :pan: people on facebook as I see them suggested. If anyone sees a friend request from Jesse Flint, that’s me

  58. There are tons of Jesse Flints!

    Van, looks very fun.

I’m off to the office for a few hours. I am on vacation, but need to deal with a few year-end things. I’m also having a haircut today, and taking Sly B out for lunch — hopefully some sushi!

We watched 1/2 of the new Dr. Who special last night before we fell asleep. We’ll catch the other half tonight. Man, it was fun to see!!

  59. Morning Pan!

Went out and did lots of stuff yesterday despite my head cold, really paying for it this morning. Unfortunately, I still have a number of errands to do this morning.

Van, that thumb thing has always been annoying, even before the change. I agree, if there is a way to fix it we should petition Jeremy to get on it

  60. The bank called last night. We made quite a few expensive purchases yesterday and they wanted to make sure it was us spending the money and that our credit card hadn’t been stolen. I know a couple who find it annoying when the bank does that, but i actually appreciate it. I’m glad they’re looking out for my interests. They can call me all they want.

  61. Oh yeah, while I think of it

*hug* to Cj to help her in her funk
*hug* to Van, he knows why
*hug* to Wolf, just because wolves love it when bunnies hug them 😉
*hug* to anybody else who wants one.

(I find I need extra hugs and cuddles when I’m not feeling well)

  62. All hugs are appreciated.

I think I found UsedHair too. If not, someone just got an email saying “Deadpan is the way” and will think I’m a freak.

Not that there’s anything new with that.

Is 3 hours sleep sufficient? I think not. There may be a nap in my future.

It comes down to this… I can’t go this long without true warm-blooded social interaction. I need real life hugs and hubby says he has a cold and won’t come near me for fear of getting me sick.

Need a warm body to snuggle, STAT!

  63. Oh yes, also, this is the LLAP with all of your fabulous voicemails. You are all amazing and I adore you :pan: !

Special thanks to @Ed from Texas for setting up the voicemail bomb!

  64. CJ: you did find me, and :pan: is the muther fuckin’ way! :metal:

I decided to save time and just go to the “friends of Jack Mangan’s Deadpan” list and start friending the hell out of lots of people. But I was nice and usually put a message that it was me (usedhair).

  65. The unreal :jack: Mangan’s on the facebook page are high school students so there are a bunch of kids who go to school with these kids that have become members of the :pan:

I kinda wonder if they are listening to the show now.

  66. Christmas has been ruined for me. We were putting away decorations and I discovered a spider had built a nest and an egg sac in our tree. I’m now here in the computer room while hubby is in the living room dealing with the rest of the tree since I now refuse to.

  67. Cj :

I kinda wonder if they are listening to the show now.

Not if they have iTunes

  68. I hope the random non-Deadpan Facebook clingers are suitably freaked out. Death to false :jack: s!

Bunny, that sounds like the plot for an Arachnophoba sequel. Good thing you have hubby around! I guess the other option would have been to move.

  69. Ugh. Spiders in the tree do not sound like fun and I’m not scared of them. Well, most of them. Brown recluse spiders freak me out but that’s because they are damn aggressive. Good thing Canada is too cold for them. Too bad there are lots here.

  70. ditto, we actually do see the occasional brown spider. They are usually imported with fruits and veggies.

I also once worked for a company that would have stuff imported from the US (not food) and there was a nest of black widows found in one of the boxes.

    eeek

  71. Talking about SH, Neil Gaiman did an excellent short story called ‘A Study in Emerald’ which set a Sherlock Holmes story in a Lovecraftian universe.

  72. Hey, I hope the AK trip is going well, JfS. If you enter the Iditarod, then be sure to get those dogs to :mush:
I appreciate everyone’s interest and all you’ve done to make this place what it is.

  73. I finally listened to the episode — hey, WHO was supposed to do show notes this week? WTF?! — and Cj, *swoon* for your song!

    CD: waiting for tuna casserole.

We were going to go to my folks’ again to help more, but they told us to stay home and enjoy our vacation. Mom is a tiny bit better, so we decided to go ahead and stay home. We’re both pretty exhausted, and dad seems to be coming into his own as a nurse.

  74. Lo Pan has one giant shiner/bloody gash on his temple/eye.

    Did Lo Pan

    a) Get into a brawl at the local pub
    b) Enjoy a nice round of “Toss the Cat”
    c) Get stupid drunk and blackout while walking home and slam his head into the concrete which, by all accounts, should have pretty much really fucked up Lo Pan. Lo Pan thanks Jin Dai for Lo Pan’s anti-death.

Hmmm…..perhaps Lo Pan has made the question too easy.

  75. LP: it was d) all of the above

A dispute over the outcome of a round of Toss the Cat lead to a brawl at a local pub. Having gotten stupid drunk with the very people he was fighting with (how much of a typical guy maneuver is that?), Lo Pan blacks out while walking home…

  76. Of Screwdrivers and Swervedrivers….

YEAH! Sean Connery! YEAH! Cross the streams! YEAH! Put it on the tab! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait reaper…. what kind of crimper?

  77. The MINGSCHACH is a lil ol place where WE CAN GET T GE THEEEEERRRRRR. Mingshach baaaayyyyybeeeeee. AH MINGSCHACH BABY!

MIIIIIIIIINGSCHAAAAAAAACH THATS WHERE ITS AAT! MINGSCCAAAAAAACH! baby MINGSCHACH!

    ok ill stop

  78. Oh it wasnt that bad J0e. Twas obvious enough.

Everything needs more cowbell. Including my dinner which consists of 2 crabcheese wontons, powerade, and some peanut butter cups. It just doesnt get any better than this. YEAH!

    CW:Stargate SG1 “The Other Guys”.

  79. Howdee. I just got home from work. It’s um.. 12:49am.
dammit. I’m just gonna start typing in the time so I can keep track of myself.

Although google reader does tell me what time all posts were posted.

    @EssBee
Thank you! I’m glad someone liked the song! :swoon:

I think we were going to hot oil wrestle over who was to do show notes… last I heard……….

  80. C Downloading: Love Long and Prosper

CR: The Other Lands (David Anthony Durham). I recommend this Acacia series to any Fantasy fans among the :pan: – it’s good good stuff (but only 2 books of 3 are out so far. Book 3 is SUPPOSEDLY coming out in 2010, but we all know how that goes).

    Coffee, stat!

  81. So after waiting, oh, about three weeks I’ve finally sent out the email to the book club on what we’re reading. I wonder how many of them can read the book in a week and a half… I think I also still need to buy it too.

  82. @LoPan Water for Elephants. No idea how the book will be. We’re doing a round table way of picking the book, so this was a random choice of one of our folks. My choice is this month so I’m contemplating throwing something in my preferred Genre’s.

  83. Morning Pan!

Apparently I’m going to an Irish Pub for lunch. then I guess it’s a hockey game tonight. I think I need to get back to work just so I have some time to rest and recover from my cold.

Speaking of which, I will be working tomorrow so I can do show notes again. I usually do them while sitting at my computer avoiding little numbers on a spreadsheet.

  84. Who the hell is Toulouse LeTrek and why would I want to add them on my FaceBook (and I pretty sure they’re not the French painter – if so, they can’t spell).

Sorry, I’m grumpy. Way too many things to do, way too stuffed of a head.

Back to FB. Why would anybody want to friend me anyway. I’m never on it any more. It’s good for e-mails for those I don’t know the actual e-mail address for and I go on it to update the :pan: page, but that’s about it.

  85. Our local SF publisher is thinking of putting on a writers workshop in August. They’ve approached the WF08 crew to see if we’d help support and possibly work on it, if they go forward with the idea. (mainly act as taxi’s and liaisons to the authors and screenwriters they want to bring in).

I thought it was a great idea so I said yes. My husband just rolls his eyes at me  I haven’t heard from the rest of the gang yet so we’ll see.

  86. Is that Edge or Dragon Moon?

The Flames beating the Kings would probably be preferable for the Coyotes. I hope you see a big win tonight, Bunny 🙂 And I hope you feel better. Sinuses full of :mush: are no fun.

  87. jackmangan :
Is that Edge or Dragon Moon?

While technically it’ll be Edge, it’s pretty much the same thing, Jack. Although, Gwen does maintain a certain independence in choosing authors, and publications and is responsible for getting books to Hades eventsw, they all fall under the same umbrella of Hades Publications now. Brian, who is head of Hades/Edge is the person I generally talk to. He lives ten minutes from my house. Also, the girl in charge of Edge’s acquisitions and one of his slush readers is a personal friend of mine. We go for lunch quite regularly. Actually, we’re supposed to do the New Year’s thing at her house.

  88. Calgary’s not doing as well as they were earlier in the season. There was a point when they were the only CDN team in playoff position. That’s not the case any more. In fact, they seemed to have dropped to sixth in the west. I know there is lots of time left in the season, but they still better pick up their acts.

Now… off to see friends and then lunch at an Irish Pub.

    Later Gators.

  89. Yeah, the  s surprise me every season. They’re doing that well with such a mediocre roster…. I’d love another deep post-season run.
More surprising though are the Coyotes and Avs. Both predicted to be the league’s worst, they’re both in secure playoff positions.

Final hockey note from me: How about Marty Brodeur getting selected for Canada’s Olympic team? I hope he realizes Bunny’s National Anthem bets may be on the line again.

  90. I think Marty was a shoe in for the team. Much like Peter Budaj for Slovakia. Um… not that thats all that impressive. Wonder who the American goalie will be?

  91. Two nights ago I was talking to Darcy in the kitchen when the dishwasher made a zapping sound and started smoking. We bought this one with the house, rolled into the mortgage, a little over five years ago. We paid in excess of $700 for it, I think.

Yesterday, the repairman honestly said he could try to fix it but the fried board was discontinued and he was not positive whether the new one would be compatible. Then he charged us $129 and wished us luck.

We figured we’d take a credit card out and go buy the cheapest one we could tolerate, but as luck would have it the Home Depot has a really nice one for $600 and no interest for a year.

Now we just need to handwash until Jan 11…

  92. Nomad Scry gets 2-minutes in the penalty box for calling me cute.

JB, in further bad news, I have no idea re: this week’s Broken Lyrics, even though I have access to the answers.

Yo ho, Lejon. Did you feel the earthquake just now? Crapmothers, that’s an odd thing to experience.

  93. Did I say good morning to the :pan: ? I think I didn’t. I took my daughter to establish her with a new doc this morning then spent the rest of today cleaning house and doing laundry. I’m sitting for 20 minutes before I start getting ready to head off to work for the night.

My days appear to be disappearing…

*whoooosh* oh crap, there goes another one!

  94. Okay, here’s some BLC hintage in advance of the next ep, though I recorded it weeks ago. Release date of album and origin place for band:

    1) March 18, 2002 Southport, England

    2) May 13, 1991 Long Island, NY

    3) July 29, 2004 Bethlehem, PA

Guess away, at least one of those should be a dead giveaway…

  95. Oh, in my e-mail I had a note. This morning it was “maybe” now I think it’s “definitely”. Edge has asked friends and associates (I’m not sure which I am) to spread a bit of buzz and give to following to everybody they know:

“An event is being planned for August 14, 2010 in Calgary Alberta called “How To Be A Kick-Ass Writer” where guest speakers will discuss how genre writers can succeed in a global print and film market. More details will follow as they become available.”

There, as a friend/associate, I’ve done my part :face:

On a side note, I have a guest room and am not afraid to use it :silly:

  96. CP: Modest Mouse – Satin in a Coffin

Are you dead or are you sleepin?
Are you dead or are you sleepin?
Are you dead or are you sleepin?
God I sure hope you are dead.

Is #3 a recording from Musikfest?

  98. Got to listen to our handiwork on LLAP today. That went off even better than I’d hoped. Thanks to all who were able to call in. We love ya, CJ!

And, bonus DP Ambassador goodness on LLAP as well. A week full of win.
