Panless

Hey everyone.

Sorry for the no-new-Deadpan morning.

Moving.

There might be a new episode today, but it would not be a typical Deadpan. And it might not happen at all. We’ll have to see how everything goes. And. . . . it’s highly unlikely that you’ll see a new episode next week. Sorry again. Deadpan is not fading (Deadfade. . . hmmm, I like. Dibs on that term, all you other SpecFic writers), just pausing as I get my shit together.

Wish me luck (again) on my big cross-country move (again).

66 is coming.

Deadpan will live on.

“The Unsolvable Deathtrap” available online and nominated for award

My short story, “The Unsolvable Deathtrap”, which originally appeared in Interzone #202 is now available online at the TTA Press website {Thank you, Andy Cox!]:

And click here for a better look at Rik Rawling’s amazing artwork.

The story has been nominated (longlisted) for the British Fantasy Society’s Short Fiction Award.
*Snoopy dance* ahem. Very cool.

Home from Balticon 41

Wow, what an experience. If only I wasn’t too exhausted to write about it. Thanks and a Deadpan wordup to everyone I met at Balticon who felt inspired to drop by.

What an absolutely astonishingly awesome group of people.

I’ll be back to relate some stories and give some shoutouts. Just not right now.

(Yes, this is a Lazy Blog Post.)

Stanley Cup Conference Championships

Buffalo Sabres vs. Ottawa Senators.
Sabres in 6.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Detroit Red Wings.
Ducks in 7.

Both of these series should be intense, hard-fought spectacles. All 4 of these teams are overloaded with grit and talent (even the Sens). We should be in for some classic hockey games.

We Are the First of May

This post is going out on the First of May. . . so, check out The P-Cast All-Stars performing Jonathan Coulton’s “First of May”, “We Are the World”/karaoke style.

“First of May” performed by the P-Cast Allstars for the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund.

Kudos to Paul Fischer for putting this together, props to Phil Rossi for a topnotch mix, and big ups to all of the performers.

——– And look at that! We’ve been BoingBoing’ed! http://www.boingboing.net/2007/05/01/podcasters_stage_can.html

And OK, you MUST listen to Rich Sigfrit’s outtakes. Listen to all of the voices. OMG. This is some funny stuff.

NHL Playoffs, round 2

OK, so I picked 4 of 8 first round series correctly. I was also off in all but one of my games-played predictions.

Let’s see how I do in the 2nd round:

Buffalo Sabres vs. New York Rangers (Sabres in 6)
New Jersey Devils vs. Ottawa Senators (Senators in 6) Go Devils! Prove me wrong!
Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks (Ducks in 7)
Detroit Red Wings vs. San Jose Sharks (Sharks in 7)
